[EDIT: Omg. I’m sorry for the length. Feel free to read it and not post.]

2.0 interpretation of the “all that & a bag of chips” 36min mark–spread (god I love that saying now!). A caveat: since this was not my reading, I can only provide the factual meanings of the cards. No higgetus-piggetus-zumba-bazinging here. I hear no voices.

*(Regarding Harry disliking the royal pomp – he’s harped on about his mixed feelings in regards to his position ad nauseam (remember “nobody really wants the job?”). And H&M’s feelings about work and press? Also straight out of sugar outlets. So really, nothing solidly connected to the cards in front of her. What her intuition told her, only she can now, but it didn’t mesh with the spreads at hand. Which is why I’m slightly iffy about it all.)

Reader asked for Harry & Meghan’s relationship, and these are the cards she got (that I could make out, the bottom row was never clarified & lay buried under her cosy cover) :

LINE 1: The Emperor (major arcana)/ The Magician (major arcana) / Knight of Wands (reversed) / 3 Pentacles (reversed)

LINE 2: 6 of Pentacles / 7 of Pentacles / The Moon (major arcana, reversed) / 9 of Swords (repeat)

LINE 3: 4 of Pentacles (I think?) / 5 of Cups (reversed, repeat) /8 of Cups / 7 of Wands (repeat)

SO WHAT IS THIS BAG OF CHIPS SAYING?

Since it’s not my reading, I can’t feel any of the infamous “card energy”. There are a few ways of reading this (just not the original readers lol) and without spreading them yourself, any option’s a go.

We’ve got Magician, likely Harry (ruled by Mercury, ruler of Virgo=Harry) the card of you making things happen yourself, manifesting your goals or dreams. He’s inspired and driven by the energy of the Emperor, the energy he wants to BE in and BECOME: the steady protector and head of the family, someone who is given due recognition for his status and achieves success. This is an energy of structure and stability through experience – which can also represent QE (authority he looks up to)/Charles (the father-figure) – in which case, this Emperor must be impressed for your plans to bear fruition IRL. If not, he’ll be your obstacle and only make things harder.

They are followed by the Knight of Wands rev. & 3 of Pentacles rev. Boy-oh-boy! The knight of wands (as a suits card, it’s fire, so possibly Meg, but could stand for both M&H in the situ overall) is an impatient aggressive energy. He’s charging ahead toward that Magician’s dream, that goal he covets so hotly! But he’s getting nowhere, or he feels impeded and blocked. His frustration costs him his focus and direction – he’s willing to charge ahead blindly in whatever direction just to get ahead and get moving, no matter the consequences down the line. This knight acts impulsively and without a clear plan. So possibly, that Emperor is making hard weather for the dream/goal to be achieved, and the knight in reverse struggles to cope with not having control over his own path. When this fiery knight is in suspension, he begins to dwell on negativity and ultimately drains his energy in destructive ways ultimately resulting in loss of self-esteem/identity.

The 3 of Pentacles tells us that there is a schism/disharmony in the atmosphere in which H&M are = the BRF. There is ultimately NO TEAMWORK. Energies are scattered. Other people’s experience or advice are dismissed, while they[H&M] probably feel like they’re not being listened to – this causes increasing tensions and power struggles. When this card comes up, it could be that members break away and go at it alone or join another team.

This draaama is followed by a short respite in the physical world – they are granted help (literally on the receiving end of “charity”) from someone/somewhere. Things are looking up a little after the struggles of the first line and this takes them into the energy of the 7 of Pentacles. But all is not what it seems there; while this card denotes the first rewards for your hard work in persevering, it does not say that the reward is what you thought it would be… We are hit by another major arcana card: The Moon rev. Our shadow selves or the card of deception, secrets and illusions. It’s funny that the moon in tarot cards is a big darkness covering the sun’s illuminating light, hindering it to shine brightly on the path of truth below. Repressed feelings may begin to bubble up to the surface and they might feel uneasy and anxious. What you thought was your goal suddenly loses its shine and you’re standing there wondering if this was truly what you wanted. Sometimes, this also means that your intuition is heightened – so the situation and your intuition crash = CONFUSION.

The sickening magnetism of the moon is illustrated clearly with the 9 of Swords following. Oy vey! That card is the worst sort of anxiety you can feel. It keeps you up, it raises your pulse so you can’t sleep, it haunts you! But… it’s the fear and anxiety of THE MIND. Of the nine swords pointing toward the woman in the card, only a max of 3 are at an angle to actually threaten her – the rest are her own mental amplifications of the other 3. This is essentially excessive worry, and it can lead to depression and depletion of energy. Also remember that this is the 2nd time this card shows up so far in this reader’s … uh… readingS. So it’s a definitely a prevailing energy.

The last line serves us the reason for the previous energies we just saw: money money money. The 4 of Pentacles is someone very attached to the material world, so much so that the illustration shows a man tightly holding onto his coins and cradling them for his life! It is a card of accomplishing material security, but it also has that downside of greed at the cost of other aspects of your life. The latter can lead to such over prising of material security that you become inflexible and conservative  – you feel like you HAVE to be in charge and in control. With this, even if you’re having second thoughts about a situation, if it’s providing you material stability – you’re unlikely to listen to your gut and change course into the unknown.

However, we have the 5 rev (2nd time hitherto in the session) & 8 of Cups. (I’d pull clarifiers on this entire line, but again, not my reading.) Fives are change in tarot. Either because someone manages to cut through the fog of disenchantment and confusion to let go and take that leap to change his/her life; forgive and forget, just get on with it and move forward. OR simply because the feeling of being stuck in that energy of the 2nd line has grown too much and has begun to trap you in an emotional prison… either way on comes 8 of Cups. This card literally asks you if you’re truly satisfied with façades and the material – did it really bring you happiness? The man walking away in the card says no. He’s weary and disillusioned and feels like he needs to seek something more, something better, something more substantial. He wants the fulfilment ha hasn’t found in the current situation. This can be a mental withdrawal and/or an actual physical moving on – on to greener pastures.

And lastly… Ending the spread is the 7 of Wands rev (2nd time for this too, 1st time upright = defending yourself & your choices against others). This card tells us that you’re tired. Tired of having to constantly defend yourself against your partner and/or the family and/or the world (media, people, blogs w/e). Your strength is running out and it all becomes too much to shoulder and perhaps not worth it, because those energy levels aren’t being replenished by love or joy or rewards that fulfil you to make it worth the hassle. It might be time to let go and move on. (That Emperor at the very beginning proved too big an obstacle to face, or too big a dream to rush into manifestation…)

Thank you so much for submitting this!

First, let me say that I love your anon name, Madame Mim. That is one of my favorite movies!!!

Second, here are my thoughts. You don’t have to respond. I am obviously just guessing here. Also, I feel like I’ve already taken up a ton of your time and I apologize for that. I don’t know why I’m so intrigued by this reading. I usually just post the astrology and tarot stuff and forget it, but this one drew me in for some reason.

I can see where the YouTube reader is coming from now. She said “there’s money all over this” and I can see that now. She was really surprised by that and so am I, honestly. Yes, I know that Meghan and Harry don’t have that much money (regardless of what all the “Hollywood millionaire” and “Diana trust” articles say), but they also have no expenses. It’s odd that they have such a money-centered spread.

Here are some specific thoughts:

First line (This is the past, no? I haven’t read Tarot in ages, but I seem to remember that. Anyway, I’m reading it as the past.)

Emperor: I’m wondering if this is Will and not PC or HM. I say this because the rest of the BRF seems to be giving Harkle wide berth and Will and Kate seem to be the only ones to be helping out. Meghan seemed quite deferential to Will during Sandringham too. Harkle also seems to have an odd compulsion to become Will and Kate, which seems to fit that “becoming” aspect. Everyone seemed to expect them to go their own way, but they seem to be imitating a lot.

Magician: Totes Harry. I see that.

Knight of Wands: I’d say that is Meghan. “Charging ahead with no clear plan” definitely describes her actions up to this point. I’d say the Emperor (Will in my read) is not impressed and may be impeding some of her wilder schemes. I’m thinking of the Royal Foundation forum and that “fighting” convo.

Three of Pentacles: I’d say this it where the Fab Four are now. Scattered and in Disarray. I Googled the card and there seems to be an element of not being listened to in there. I’d say that’s how Meghan and Harry feel. They are not being listened to. Their more outlandish ideas (politics, etc…) are not being adopted.

Second line (this would be present, at least for me)

Six of Pentacles: Not sure what this is. Outside help sounds right. Maybe this is the massive expense of the wedding?

Seven of Pentacles: Outside help works and they have some measure of success. Wedding?

Moon reversed: Like you say, realization that this was all illusion and not what they really wanted. Whatever success they had was not what they really wanted. Maybe the marriage isn’t what they really wanted and they come to realize that.

Nine of Swords: Mental anxiety, as you say. Likely caused by the crumbling of the illusory goal.

Last line (reasons, like you say)

4 of Pentacles: Money, money money. I’m still very intrigued by the extreme focus on money in this spread. Possession rule your life, uh? Wow.

5 of Cups reversed: Moving on from disappointment

8 of Cups: Disappointment with achieved goal. Interesting that the 5 came before the 8. I’d say this speaks to the impulsivity of these two. They act first and think later, imo. I’d read these two cards together as a massive problem with short attention span, dissatisfaction and impulsivity.

Seven of Wands reversed: Feeling overwhelmed, criticized. I love your analysis here.

Thanks for sending in your analysis. Lots of food for thought there.
