(2/2) Real feminists don’t drop everything in their life for a marriage. And I’m not talking about her career because feminism is about choice. I’m talking about friends, family, sense of self, and principles. What most infuriating about her PR agenda is her narrative about how she’s a modern princess and an inspiration for young girls. Inspiration for what exactly? For attaching yourself to wealthy and useful men and then discard ppl as you see fit?
OMG, this.
The whole “feminist princess” idea is weird because (i) she dropped her entire life for this one guy, and (ii) her entire rise to cable pseudo-fame was based on playing “hot girls.”
It’s a weird disconnect, which was painfully obvious during the STEMettes engagement when she was supposed to encourage girls to pursue STEM careers and ended up (of course!) encouraging them to take their clothes off on television.
