Red was a genius choice for Kate to wear. A nice contrast against the white swaddle, her dark hair, and the dark brown backdrop of Lindo Wing. Also brings out the blush. Really makes for a great photograph. I wouldn’t be surprised if she took tester photos with different outfits to see which one she’d like best

Oh, I suspect there were a ton of outfits and fittings and photos for these few minutes in the spotlight. Thanks to Meghan, I have enormous respect now for Kate and Tash’s prep work. They probably spent a few days just getting the baby blanket folds right.

And that Sara Vine article is absolutely correct about the importance of it. They are not celebs. They are symbols. Those pics will be posted and re-posted for decades. Those images are part of the country’s image and will become its history. They have to get it right.
