H is mad at the press because he blames them for M looking bad. They showed M looking like she does (they should’ve taken better angles, used photoshop), M says something idiotic (they should have omitted that in their reporting), her family is trash (they should ignore/not print their stories). In his eyes, this is going downhill because of the press, not because of him and M are screw ups. It’s all someone else’s fault. Right now it’s the reporters fault. Next month-maybe someone else to blame

It’s always going to be the reporter’s fault.

But most of it, I think, is because the gap between expectation and reality was so huge. She presented this image of a perfect co-parenting family with a woke dad and caring mom and that crumbled. She told everyone she was a fashion authority and now she can’t dress herself. She published thoughtful and articulate essays and now she can’t be trusted to say anything. She claimed she was only interested in humanitarianism, but as soon as she married she skipped out on charity trips and went on epic shopping sprees.
