We are dealing with some dangerously deranged people, folks!

What the actual F***?! These people are just as crazy as she is! It pisses me off how miss queen sugar B**** doesn’t speak out against her rabid fans bullying and threatening people like this!

After watching that bellycupping video, I’ve realized we haven’t been giving her enough credit. Girl does have talent. She has to have some to be able to do her criss-cross-2 cats in a bag walk, while arching her back into an unnatural position, pushing her stomach muscles out as hard as can be without passing wind, belly cupping, and posing all while walking in stilettos.

When you consider that most belly cupping is either done standing or in the final months/trimester of the pregnancy, then you realize that video really is something else.

The Best Books of 2018

jkottke:

Best Books 2018

2018 was the year that tsundoku entered our cultural vocabulary. It’s a Japanese word that doesn’t translate cleanly into English but it basically means you buy books and let them pile up unread. The end-of-the-year book lists coming out right now won’t help any of us with our tsundoku problems, but there are worse things in life than having too many books around. I took at look at a bunch of these lists and picked out some of the best book recommendations for 2018 from book editors, voracious readers, and retailers. Let’s dig in.

The NY Times published three different lists: The 10 Best Books of 2018 (as chosen by the editors of the Times Book Review), the 100 Notable Books of 2018, and the Times Critics’ Top Books of 2018. My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh and David Blight’s Frederick Douglass both appear on these lists and I’ve seen them on many other lists as well.

I am delighted to see Lisa Brennan-Jobs’ memoir Small Fry on the Times’ top 10 list as well. I’m gonna have more to say about this in an upcoming post, but in an era where we’re re-evaluating the importance of the personal conduct and personalities of the people running massive tech and media companies, this book did not get the attention it deserved, particularly in the tech press.

Tyler Cowen, who samples upwards of 1800 books every year, has led me to many of my favorite reads over the years. He has two lists this year: the best non-fiction books of 2018 and the best fiction of 2018. His top fiction pick overall is Emily Wilson’s translation of The Odyssey, which I have been banging on about for several months as well. Another of his fiction picks is Circe by Madeline Miller, which is another contemporary reinterpretation of Greek mythology from the perspective of a woman. I’m 3/4s of the way through Circe right now and I might like it even more than The Odyssey. Among the nonfiction picks, I can testify to the greatness of Charles Mann’s The Wizard and the Prophet (my review is here and the book’s topic also featured in Avengers: Infinity War) and am most interested in checking out W. J. Rorabaugh’s Prohibition: A Concise History, having watched the Ken Burns and Lynn Novick documentary on it earlier this year.

Amazon’s editors selected Tara Westover’s Educated as their top book of the year. Also on the list is Tommy Orange’s There There, which appears on many other lists as well. Amazon’s This Year in Books is also worth a look…it is definitely not the critic’s view of what we read: the most-sold fiction book was Ready Player One and the most-sold nonfiction book was Michael Wolf’s book about Trump, Fire and Fury.

NPR’s 2018 Book Concierge contains hundreds of books in more than two dozen categories. The Rather Short filter appeals to me and I found on there Michael Lewis’ The Fifth Risk and Denis Johnson’s The Largess of the Sea Maiden.

Barbara Kiser, books columnist for Nature, picked The Best Science Books of 2018. I noticed one of her selections on a few other lists as well: The Tangled Tree: A Radical New History of Life by David Quammen.

Eater calls Anita Lo’s Solo: A Modern Cookbook for a Party of One the best cookbook of the year. And from Book Riot’s The 25 Best Cookbooks of 2018 To Get You In The Kitchen, here’s Snoop Dogg’s cookbook From Crook to Cook. Bow wow wow, yummy yum.

For The Guardian’s Best Books of 2018, a group of authors including Hilary Mantel, Chris Ware, and Yuval Noah Harari share their top picks of the year. Mantel, the author of an excellent pair of books on Thomas Cromwell (Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies) recommends Diarmaid MacCulloch’s biography of Cromwell, who was Henry the VIII’s chief minister, a key figure of the English Reformation. Harari recommends Michael Pollan’s How to Change Your Mind: The New Science of Psychedelics, which also features on a number of other lists. Oh, and Yotam Ottolenghi highlights Lateral Cooking by Niki Segnit, a cookbook “designed to help creative cooks develop their own recipes”.

The National Book Award for fiction went to The Friend by Sigrid Nunez, the nonfiction award went to The New Negro: The Life of Alain Locke by Jeffrey Stewart, and the poetry award went to Justin Phillip Reed’s Indecency. Check out the other winners and runners-up here. The Man Booker Prize went to Anna Burns for ner novel Milkman.

Bill Gates’ 2018 list is pretty eclectic, with books about meditation and military AI. A more standard pick for him is 21 Lessons for the 21st Century by Yuval Noah Harari.

It’s very weird that each of her outlets has different due date, one paper says the baby is due late March/early April, another one says it’s around Queen and Louis’s birthday and yet another one says it’s on Charlotte’s birthday, KP says she got her 12 week scan, on the next day she says she’s 4 months pregnant, just as Meghan herself wasn’t sure when the actual due date is.

At this point, I don’t know that we’re ever going to get an official due date announced by KP.

And for anyone saying that KP doesn’t confirm due dates, they did for Kate last year.

Man Unknowingly Buys 4,000-Year-Old Pottery at Flea Market, Uses It As Toothbrush Holder

archaeologicalnews:

You never know what you’ll find at a flea market … like a 4,000-year-old piece of pottery. That’s what a guy in England discovered, though he didn’t realize what he had until later, after he’d repurposed the jar as a toothbrush holder.

The pottery vessel, adorned with the painting of an antelope, caught the eye of Karl Martin while he was browsing a yard sale five years ago. He picked the jar up, along with another pot, for about $5 (4 pounds).

“I liked it straight away,” Martin said in a statement from Hansons Auctioneers, where he now works and where the pottery was auctioned — selling for about $100 (80 pounds) in November.

The jar dates to the Indus Valley Harappan civilization, which thrived in the northwestern regions of South Asia during the Bronze Age, according to James Brenchley, head of antiquities at Hansons Auctioneers. Read more.

Harry did speak at the memorial.  He essentially read a speech clearly written by her.  He spoke of her commitment to menstrual health.  At a memorial for a friend the proceeds of which support a school in Africa.    Now here is the real story of MM’s “menstrual health” activism.  She gave an interview in VF in September of 2016.  She claimed to be working with a group in India on building a school for girls and said she would be going to India in January.  The story was a complete fabrication no such project existed.  Celebs can spout off whatever and no one takes them seriously but a royal GF is something different so now she was held to account for this “visit”.  So first through her pr she claimed it was too dangerous to visit India.  But that was also BS so her firm K and C quick arranged attendance at a conference and a quickie visit to an factory that makes reusable menstrual pads.  MM got all dressed up in an elaborate sari and got her photo op.

Now about this charity.  It was founded by a young woman who subsequently received a Queen’s Young Leadership Award this past year.  Yes at a ceremony Meghan attended.  And never mentioned this woman whose work she has been taking credit for.   The idea was to found enterprises for rural Indian woman.  And a market need was menstrual pads because in rural areas there are no stores to buy pads at.  Hence the factory.

So Meghan writes a essay that appears in Newsweek Online.  She misses the purpose of the charity claims it is about stigma not enterprise.  And she never mentions the name of the charity so people can send donations.  And her solution to the issue of women not having menstrual pads?  The readers of Newsweek – primarily white affluent suburbanites – should discuss menstruation at dinner.  Seriously you can finds this joke online.

So there is Meghan Markle’s idea of being charitable.  Dress up, photo op, pr stunt and then never do anything about the issue again but brag forever about it.  She did the same in Rwanda.  Photo op in a lifestyle magazine called Rwanda Glam and never got involved with the issue again.

Girl,MM is not going to stay for 10 years LOL,2 years tops,The Moment that ‘Baby Sussex’ is born,MM don’t need Harry anymore, expecially if is a Girl, they will defenitively call her DIANA and the alimony that she will use it to continue her lifestyle and most importantly she will not have to follow the RF rules-protocols anymore ‘Fab Four’,SHE WILL BE FREE and EVERYTHING will be ABOUT HER,The front covers/interviews(Vogue,VF),The Tig back, her Social Media, the Merch trips,Haute couture clothes

I still think Megs will be over this come March 2019.

“Are any of you football fans?’ the Duke asked at one point, bringing up his favourite topic of sport. After a look from his wife, he conceded: ‘I’m sorry!’ ‘You’re not going to find an Aston Villa fan everywhere,’ the Duchess told him, amused, before the Duke pulled his trump card: ‘I’ve found one already actually.”

Question: past, present, and future?

Past

9 of C: Baby sussex was created after/during their marriage no time before. During that time they were happy and joyful.

Clarifier The Magician (Rx): they were too quick to jump at getting pregnant. Riding high on cloud 9 thinking they were the literal Disney prince and princess. This pregnancy wasn’t thought out nor planned appropriately.

Present

5 of W: she is 5 months right now and it is not fun for either baby nor mother. There is a lot of tension and conflict happening, we already know that. Its taking its toll on both of them.

Clarifier 6 of P: the conflict that is happening now is due to work maybe even her charities, sharing of finances.

Future

9 of S: the future holds a lot of depression, postpartum depression.

Clairfier 3 of P (Rx): that depression is the result of again her charities and not being able to do what she wants when she wants. She’ll see it as Kate does what she wants why can’t I, this is a common theme. She will feel unappreciated and unfulfilled.

This chick lifeline is stress, without it she doesn’t know how to survive. I almost want to feel sorry for her, I said almost. She needs take a step back because the stress she’s causing is having an affect on the baby. Reckless is her middle name.

I pulled cards on both Rachel and baby Sussex yesterday at different times. The cards I got for her felt aggressive. She is one stubborn mule I tell you. What I saw was her literally standing out in the cold, surrounded by snow, only wearing a grey sweater. There was no buildings, no dogs, no one in sight. She is literally alone, and is currently making herself numb to the situation she brought onto herself. I sent this to @talkingtarot yesterday because I wasn’t even sure I was reading things right (still recouping). She gives off this feel sorry for me vibe, and then bam 💥 she does something stupid that makes you throw your hands up. I’ll post what I got last night for baby Sussex who I believe is a boy and has both stubborn qualities of his parents. I’ll pull some cards again for Rachel tonight, maybe something different will come up for the month of December.

Nah girl your cards are spot on. All I kept getting today was 5 of Pentacles for her – over and over and over again.

PS I also keep getting a boy for baby Sussex – quite the little Aries. Yeah, so have fun with that little hellion you two.

Harry seems like a loved up cookoo. God he is the biggest fool. I wonder if it’ll take him 10 years to realize how much mm has alienated him from everyone. It’ll be too late by then. W&C will obviously be P&PoW by then. And Cambridge kids will be all grown up and harry will be a balding bearded middle age man going through divorce.

I think the bloom will be off the rose, so to speak, for Harry with this relationship/marriage come the beginning of January 2019. We may not see it publicly, but I think it’ll be over for him at that point.

OMFG,Lainey ”Prince Harry on periods and Royal Meghan pops”..”It’s hard enough to get women to talk about their periods, but for a prince of England to get up in a church and actually say the word “period” and “menstrual health” while addressing the congregation…to me it is a big deal. I love him for this. And I’m crediting Royal Meghan for making it happen”,Like What!! LOL I Can’t,Harry use the Memorial of his dead friend to Hype MM ‘Humanitarian, menstrual health’ Photo-op LOL

Yup.

Obviously, Meghan wants to memorialize herself, even at someone else’s memorial.

I think Harry did the “oh, isn’t my wife so great” rendition at this event because things between him and his wife aren’t so great at the moment. Why talk about how you’re wife is so great when it’s not the right moment, unless you desperately need everyone else to think so?

HOW DID I FORGET TO TELL YOU ALL THAT I SAW FIVE DOGS ON THE TRAIN TODAY. FIVE WHOLE DOGS. IT WAS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE. THE MAN SITTING NEXT TO ME COULD NOT CARE LESS AND I KEPT LOCKING EYES WITH HIM WHEN I WAS STARING AT THE DOGS AND HE WAS SO IRRITATED WITH ME BUT I DON’T CARE BECAUSE THERE WERE FIVE DOGS

@msamyzing You can only see four of them because one was hidden and I was trying to take the photo without anyone noticing because I’d already made myself look like a total freak by whispering “so many dogs” repeatedly to myself. There’s obviously the lovely one sitting nicely on the right, you can see the tail of another one next to him, the little one, and then my favourite is the one on the far left. If you zoom in you can tell he loves his dog walker!!

Bruh, now her tits are like 3 times bigger than yesterday & the bump disappeared. Wtf is up with this pregnancy yo

Well, I’m curious to see what she would look like in a picture from the side in this one.

image

Kind of looks like she may be hunching/bending over, so that may be why her abdomen looks so different. She’s obviously pregnant since her boobs have increased in size, which is normal. If we had better pictures of her dress we’d probably have a clearer answer.

But this picture…

This is a girl who can always find her angles for the camera. And she looks beat in this photo. There is not much life in that face. Dead eyes…

Kate’s ‘Royal Mail’ delivery for RAF gifts

sea-dukes-assistant:

Glad this article wasn’t about what Kate wore.

Snark aside, as active duty this gave me rainbows in my soul.  I’ve twice been away from home for Christmas (one spent at bootcamp, the other on deployment), and I know how much mail, let alone a familiar face, means this time of year.  I think it’s awesome they both flew to Cyprus to hand out mail and packages from the airmen’s families, and actually spent some time with them.

Though I have to wonder if they bothered with the lower-ranking enlisted; they never get any of this type of treatment but they are just as important as the sergeant or unit commander.

The Crown, Season 3: love, romance – and Europe

You can’t escape from Brexit anywhere these days. Fans of The Crown might have thought that season 3 of the story of the House of Windsor under Elizabeth II would be a safe haven from Euro talk, but they’re in for a shock. The third instalment will include the moment that The Queen watched the UK enter the Common Market.

That political milestone is just one of the major historical events which…

Dear 80′s kids and other rad people following my blog …

mastersofthe80s:

As you are probably all aware by now Tumblr will not allow any nudity anymore after 17 december and though there is no porn on my blog anywhere, I just noticed that the movie poster of ‘Checking Out’ that I posted recently, which has Jeff Daniels on the cover in his boxershorts, is now flagged.

Tons of 80′s action movies had shirtless guys on the cover, that was just a popular thing back then. There’s nothing sexual about it. Lots of my other posts, like for instance a photo from Heather Locklear in a typical 80′s aerobic outfit and even a gif I made from the movie Troll are now flagged. Seriously? This  is absolutely ridiculous!

I currently have 57.244 followers and generally get between 10 and 20 new followers each day, but in the last 2 days I actually lost 44, which is the most ever and are obviously just people ending their accounts because of this new rule, not because they don’t like my blog anymore. So it even affects non-sexual blogs. And that’s not all, my front page is a mess. Suddenly Tumblr puts posters I posted years ago at the top of my page. Why? No idea!

I have run this blog for almost 5 years now come january and have done so with all the fond memories and love I have for my childhood and that amazing decade. Eventhough I rarely receive a message, I do get a lot of reblogs and I love reading all your comments of the memories you have of certain films, toys, cartoons or video games from the 80′s that I post. That’s what kept me going, but if I just keep losing posts and followers from now on that doesn’t really stimulate me to keep going.

Tumblr is digging it’s own grave.
