I think “Fruity dress” or “Fruit salad dress” would be a more open option for the bingo. Because she’ll probably keep going for the rotting fruity pastel shades now that she’s trying to project her suits-script onto her royal script. A Fruity dress encompasses anything from banana, snotty passion fruit, watermelon, overripe half-squashed pastel strawberries, maybe we’ll even be graced with a watery lettuce salad dress – which would technically fit the “salad”-part. :) /Optimist anon

anonymoushouseplantfan:

We had an anon last week who said she would probably switch to bright colors now because Season 1 was Meghan being super serious and trying to do a good job in black, Season 2 was Meghan being “in love” and trying to fit in in pink, and now Season 3 is Meghan breaking out the bright colors because now she is confident and a seasoned royal. I suspect that anon is right.

Oooooh meghan’s sugars are burning piers on twitter and he is giving back to EVERYONE!! Quoting everyone’s tweet and replying them back!!

Smackdown!!!! Bring out the popcorn, guys.

Can you imagine the shitstorm if her father actually did die this summer while this is already going on? You know, it’s already a new celebrity death every day…

Just sayin’.

Fifty years ago, at Lake Mungo, the true scale of Aboriginal Australians’ epic story was revealed

archaeologicalnews:

This month marks the golden jubilee of a watershed event in the history of this nation that should cause all Australians to pause and reflect.

On July 15, 1968, while searching for clues to past climates and ancient landscapes on land under the joint care of Paakantyi/Barkindji, Ngiyampaa and Mutthi Mutthi people, Earth scientist Jim Bowler ambled across the cremated remains of an Aboriginal woman eroding from a crescent-shaped dune flanking the shoreline of now-dry Lake Mungo in western New South Wales.

The 40,000-year-old “Mungo Lady” and the equally ancient remains of Mungo Man, found nearby in 1974, doubled scientific estimates of how long Aboriginal people had called Australia home.

The discovery taught us Aboriginal history stretched back to a time when the only humans in Europe were Neanderthals, and people had not yet reached America. The scientific, cultural and political reverberations still resonate today. Read more.

Petty Piers is out in force….  Ah it isn’t just Piers.  Markle was allegedly warned by Mischa Nonoo that the tabs would destroy her.  Markle ignored that warning.  Typical narc – incapable of thinking they can be defeated and always thinking they are the smartest one in the room.  The Sun, The Telegraph and the DM especially but all of the tabs knew what the real nature of MM and PH’s relationship was – that it was 90% fake that when he became engaged he barely knew her and had spent little time with her.  After all they were accepting the releases from her several pr firms and publishing them and they were collaborating with her in the merching and making money off it too.  They knew how the pics were being taken that she called the paps.  They knew when the pics were old pics being released as current.  They knew exactly what was going on.

Markle has simultaneously also underestimated and overestimated the power of the RF.  She thinks Harry can protect her from the media.  No he can’t.  The RF could to some extent but not Harry on his own and  not for long.   The tabs know her dirt but the 11/16 statement kept them from unloading right away.  Now they have had an additional year and a half  to collect more info.  They will use it.  Probably when she stops making clicks and money for them.  Piers is just toying with her now.  Interviews are being done. Lies will be exposed.  The DM warned her and the RF that there would be unexpected and unwelcome revelations after a marriage.  Piers is the least of her worries. There is the US media too. It is all a matter of timing.

Thanks for sending this in! There may very well be further tab revelations coming down the pike, but I think her own behavior will sink her. Right now, the coverage is all about her “new” posh accents. Soon, we will go back to the ridiculous spending and then her family will come up again. We will probably have something political come up during the tours. It just keeps piling up.

I think the lies will be exposed, but I think it will be because of her own behavior. She’s not a charity-oriented International Relations person who reluctantly gave up her dream of becoming the next Madeleine Albright so she could do sexy poses in Deal or No Deal. She’s a fame-hungry actress who was willing to do anything to secure those People covers and who early on realized that Harry was her ticket to a life of endless publicity and luxury. This becomes clearer every single day.

I don’t know that I would expect the US media to do much on the Markle debacle. Yeah, sure, they’ll cover it. But she PALES in comparison to the everyday disaster of Trump.

Meghan really is very stubborn. She won’t reach out to her dad, she ghosted Piers. It’s so easy to fix this. These two things will keep being a thorn in her side and if she’s not careful, it might be a big reason for those who have neutral feelings towards her to move firmly into the dislike-her camp.

anonymoushouseplantfan:

It’s amazing to me that she’s wiling to  take Byrony Gordon to lunch in order to get absolutely zero good press because Byrony is already in Harry’s pocket, but she’s not willing to go to Mexico to visit her dad to avoid bucketloads of bad press.

So, does the fact that she’s taking a journalist out to lunch mean that money for her pr agency budget is falling low?

“That’s what they did with Doria, and it worked. I don’t understand why they didn’t do that with Tom.” I agree. I think Ma serves a purpose for Meg, a la strong black single mother. Pa serves no purpose except to embarrass Meg by reminding all where she comes from. Irony is that Ma was MIA during Meg’s childhood while Pa raised her, took her to his work, introduced her to Hollywood ppl and paid a ton for her private education. If anything she owes Pa, not Ma, and Pa knows this.

anonymoushouseplantfan:

Very likely.

Harry’s shoes and his what seems to be only blue suit is why I never thought he was in it for the money. He splurged on a few new items of clothing for the Caribbean tour and then nothing. And now his wife is spending like there’s no tomorrow and he’s still in the same clothes and shoes from years ago. He didn’t even wear his tux for the engagement photos which is why he looks out of place next to her.

anonymoushouseplantfan:

Yep.

I agree re: Tom and Meghan two peas in a pod.  No sympathy for either.  But Meghan if she had two IQ points to rub together should have known she had to handle them. During the “affair” phase of this scam it benefitted her to let the family carry on because it was the one thing that gained her sympathy.  So she allowed it.  But once the wedding was on she had to know that the family drama was not going to be helpful.  And she refused to do a thing about any of them except Momma.  The real  family ruined her delusional ideal of family she had described in The Tig and her interviews.  So she ignored them.  They were an embarrassment.  And her determination to avoid that embarrassment and still attempt to get the sympathy vote over rode any intelligent assessment of shutting the scandal down.

This is a woman who chose to invite people she did not know and had not even met to her wedding while ignoring all but her mother and mother’s brother. Hard to feel a whole lot of sympathy for her especially since using then discarding people has been amply demonstrated to be her style.

What is curious is that Harry or the RF did nothing until things got totally out of hand in the days before the wedding.  They clearly acted as if they saw it as her responsibility and were caught flatfooted by the whole heart attack drama.  Even now it seems they exert no influence on her to stop the drama.  That is interesting.

Thanks for submitting this! THAT is the question. Why was this not neutralized? I think the BRF KNEW how to neutralize it. They expected Doria and Tom to arrive for the baptism and PC and Cam were ready to wine and dine them, However, the parents never showed up. Tom and Doria were expected to show up a week or two before the wedding for more wining and dining. The BRF has been charming people this way for generations. They knew what to do.

But Meghan never brought her parents. Doria only made it in two days before the wedding and the BRF had to go all out wth tea and presents and crap right before the wedding.

I think they set everything up and left it to Meghan to bring in her parents–and she never did. Meghan is in the same tough spot social climbers have been since the dawn of time. She’s built her Holly GoLightly persona and she doesn’t want the old Lulla Mae identity to contaminate her new existence. She didn’t want her parents there. She HAD to have Doria because she needed that racial cred, but that was it. Once Tom had to bow out, she was happy to let him do so.

I think Markle is pregnant now but will struggle to keep it.

@houseofbrat Heres a better pic

NOPE. ugh

Even if she is, it won’t show yet. Not till she’s over 12 weeks or more. I didn’t even know I was pregnant till my 8th week and only because I noticed changes in my body.

@impossiblefiregarden I posted the initial photo because I think it highlights Meg’s slimness. Breasts increase more than the lower abdomen in the first trimester of pregnancy. It doesn’t look to me like she has more cleavage up top at this moment of time.

Famed British Geologist Was Spectacularly Wrong About Stonehenge

archaeologicalnews:

In 1923, famed British geologist Herbert Henry Thomas published a seminal study on Stonehenge, claiming to have found the precise spots where prehistoric people had quarried the stones.

There was just one problem with his analysis: It was wrong. And it has taken geologists about 80 years to get it right, a new study finds.

“At best, he [Thomas] was forgetful and sloppy, but at worst he was being deceptive,” said study co-researcher Rob Ixer, a geologist at the University of Leicester and an honorary senior research associate at the Institute of Archaeology at University College London, in England.

In addition to debunking Thomas’ influential work, the researchers announced an additional Stonehenge discovery: Prehistoric people likely didn’t boat the stones though Bristol Channel on the way from where the stones were quarried, in western Wales, to where Stonehenge stands today, in Salisbury Plain. george’s so cute. i love that he’s a very gentle soul. bless him for not wanting to play football because he doesn’t want to hurt people. and it is so nice to see w&k embrace his gentleness- i know a lot of parents who wouldn’t do that and would tell their kids to ‘toughen up’.

duchessofostergotlands:

They both talk a lot in public about children’s health and wellbeing and I love that they actually walk the walk. They chose a school specifically because it prioritises emotional support, not because it’s traditional. They seem to respect George’s space and they encourage the things he likes. I think it’s wonderful to see how far things have come since Charles’s childhood

Do you know how hard it is to make it as an indie band these days? There are so many of us, and we’re all so cute and it’s like if you don’t get on Letterman or some stupid soundtrack, you’re screwed, okay? Satan is our only hope. We’re working with the beast now. And we’ve got to make a really big impression on him. And to do that, we’re going to have to butcher you. And bleed you. And then Dirk here is gonna wear your face. Relax, I’m kidding about the face thing. But the rest is gonna happen.

Ok, it’s the day after so I took a look at Megs dress again. First, I really had to scroll to find the article on DM, second, I concur 100% with your anon who said that this outfit is good, FOR HER. But comparing to what a lady in her shoes should dress like, it’s another fail. Like you said Plant, we’re grading on a curve

anonymoushouseplantfan:

Look, it’s not an IKEA duvet topped with toilet paper. That’s all we’re saying.

“It’s weird that no one Meghan’s family was really invited to the wedding. I get you don’t want to invite all the relatives that have been bashing you, but what about people from her mom’s side? What about the relatives that stayed quiet and were happy for her? They deserve to be there and wish you well on a very special day.“ – Submitted by Anonymous

AH well The Sun can’t let DM have all the fun.  And Harry is now stomping through the halls of KP screaming at his staff  “make this go away”.  He deserves every bit if this.  Stupid twit.

And they are already bringing up the Fergie comparisons.

My favorite statements from this column:

  • “I don’t think either of them [Harry and Megs] comes out of this well.”
  • “Meghan seemed cold with a statement declaring she has always ‘cared’ for her father following the news his heart condition meant he wouldn’t walk her down the aisle.“
  • “The ball is very much in Meghan’s court.”
  • “…but these will be tricky times for the newly minted Duchess of Sussex.”
  • “She needs to cement her popularity in these crucial early days.”

Looks to me like this column is practically prepping the waters for what will likely come later this month and August.

So this accent thing is picking up steam. Saw it on E! I couldn’t hear it. Don’t really think she’s speaking in british accent must be missing something

anonymoushouseplantfan:

I’m surprised at how much coverage it’s getting, but I was also surprised at how much coverage that video where she supposedly tries to hold Harry’s hand got. Poor girl is desperate to be known for her fashion. and instead she’s getting “dad trouble,” “protocol breach,” and “fake accent” coverage.

And it’s going to get worse before it…doesn’t get better.

msmarvel:

I feel like for a certain kind of movie [the end titles] can really bring something to the party and elevate it. I don’t think that they’re always necessary, but when they’re good, when they’re well made, and when they’re in the right place I think they’re an amazing part of the movie.

In our case the title sequence almost became the end of the movie in a beautiful way. You’re right at a moment when you wish you had more and it becomes more. It carries forward the story in a way. What the final moment of the film is best at is saying “Now there’s Wonder Woman, now Wonder Woman is born.” — Patty Jenkins on Wonder Woman’s End Titles
