I think the receipts you are asking for are about the engagement dress? Am I right about that? I’m not sure because the post you cite said the dress cost “25k” and the engagement dress cost 56k pounds or $75k.
If you ARE asking about the engagement dress. KP told the DM that the dress was “privately purchased.”
The Sun was the only one who added the “not from official royal funds” and “it is thought they spent nowhere near that figure.” It is unclear whether they got that from their palace “source” (no other outlet got that info), or if they are talking about some other “source.”
A lot of people thought that the dress was sent to Jess as a freebie and then she gifted it to Meghan, thus circumventing the “no freebies” rule, but, as far as I know, there was not confirmation anywhere.
However, People subsequently noted that royals cannot accept clothes for free. They also stated that they “understand” that, at least up to March 2018, Harry and Meghan were playing for her clothes independently.
As you can tell, the sources of the statements get cloudier and cloudier. KP is on the record as saying that the dress was “privately purchased,” but once you start to ask where the funds came from the statements are attributed to “it is thought” and “People understands.”

Interesting, no? The Irish tour barely made a blip. Her birthday was noteworthy because it was the first time she was seen after her Dad did his interview. Her best events other than that were the engagements with HM and Kate. The other big interest event was the hideous Oscar de la Renta gown. Weirdly enough, Hamilton barely gave her more press than the new dog and the Clooneys gave her no press at all!

This has probably been said many times, but it seems like Harry and Meghan aren’t worried about some of us seeing behind the show curtain because they think the majority of people won’t look that closely. As long as they can get 1 relatively good picture. For example, Harry getting the children to hug Meghan, he knows most people won’t see/look for how he told them to. With Australia, lots of people will only see that they’re meeting young people, many people won’t see the awkward videos/quotes. Similarly with her clothes. I think it’s also the way Meghan chose the picture for her birthday thank you, it looks like she’s having fun, like the people she’s meeting are laughing with her/looking at her almost adoringly! A very different image from some of the videos!

It’s more than 18 days together. They’ll have to be together from October 12th (maybe even October 11th) through November 1st. Have to include Eugenie’s wedding (on the 12th) and all the travel time.
I don’t know much about Australia, but it seems the expense is a big sticking point down under. They also seem to disclose EVERYTHING in a fairly timely manner, unlike Ireland or Canada. Cost is likely to be be biggest issue in this tour, and I’m not sure that Australia can justify it with a faux tourism boost, like the UK can.
That’s one reason why I’m so confused about the length of the trip and the fact that they are traveling to the boonies instead of sitting their asses down at a low-cost, already-paid-for, super-popular venue like Invictus.
They are not getting THAT much, when you think of it. Meghan is just really, really good at hyping what she gets.
She got a mediocre non-heirloom engagement ring, but hyped it up with some “official Di collection” diamonds. She got a few minor events for her pre-engagement engagements (very minor compared to Kate’s very official lifeboat launch and St. Andrew’s events), but hyped them up as a “regional tour.” She got the generic royal wedding, but hyped it up with security cost leaks and celeb friends. She got a short visit to Ireland, but hyped it up with tons of costume changes. She got an extension on Harry’s Invictus trip and a bunch of youth group and Commonwealth canopy visits and is hyping them up. She got one event with HM and hyped it up with the train sleepover.
The only true “gets” are the Commonwealth events and Harry was going to get them anyway. She just hopped on.
She’s not getting *that* much. It’s just that she’s freaking amazing at hyping shit up. The royal reporters are apparently going to skip a full fledged royal visit with one of the most magnetic royals in the world (Maxima), because they would rather go to Australia to take pics of Meghan pretending to laugh as she watches kids play soccer down under.
Personally, I’d much rather watch Kate and Maxima rocking tiaras.
Tour schedule is out. 16 days and they will only be spending three on Invictus, which takes place from the 20th to the 27th. Looks like they will attend the Opening, one day of events (maaaaybe, if they don’t have anything better to do in Australia), and the Closing. The best part is that they will spend the bulk of Invictus week drawing attention AWAY from the athletes, since all of the media will be covering Meghan’s Down Under fashion show.

I used to think that it was because they were waiting to do a big “charity powerhouse” pr drive for Meghan this month, but that does not seem to be the case. I can only assume that it’s because the numbers are pretty low.
An anon thought that maybe they can’t release the numbers because they did individual charities instead of a big fund like Will and Kate, but I don’t think that’s the reason. They can ask the charities if they had a bump in donations between the announcement and the wedding date and publish that. The charities will know exactly what they got and where it came from.

What benefit is there to the royal family in having Megs continue to be around with a title and an HRH? There is no value or benefit to the institution of the monarchy. Megs does not and will not have the ability to do a power play against the royal family. She doesn’t have anything to negotiate with; Diana had everything to negotiate with. Charles and Diana were married for more than 10 years, and Charles was–and still is–first in line to the throne. Harry is not. He is never going to become head of the Church of England. Diana was mother to a future king and a popular, INTERNATIONAL, public figure. Considerations that will never apply to Meghan.
In situations of divorce of wealthy and powerful people, you have to have something to negotiate with. Meghan has assured herself–by her own dumbass behavior–that she will have nothing to negotiate with, other than what remaining goodwill Harry has for her.

First of all, everyone has annoying relatives, even I do. So I am not surprised that she does not like them. Besides, I think the madness runs in the family. I just find it surprising how people are pitying Meghan. She claims to be a humanitarian yet she doesn’t bother helping her father mentally, emotionally or financially(whatever he wants). He might be the trashiest person on earth but he still raised her and she probably has SOME good memories of him. Not to mention she made him sound like the best dad in the world on Father’s day on her insta. How can she truly help strangers(her so-called humanitarian work) and at the same time not even glance at her own father? She is such a fake and I’m surprised more people don’t question this. I hate some of my relatives but if they were so desperately wanting something I would not turn them away because they are family. I second this. I don’t know if it has to do with the culture we are brought up in, but I’ve always learnt that you try and be there for your family. Granted, if they are toxic, you create boundaries, and sometimes those boundaries mean no communication. But clearly, from her Instagram posts, she had love and respect for her father and mother. So, why did her father not have her direct number even before he sold photos to paparazzi? (He said he had the number of her aide who would then give her the phone or she’d call back. After he started talking to the media, those numbers were changed.) More importantly, why did Harry not meet him at any time before or after the engagement? He’d met Doria several times before they got engaged. Why hasn’t she given him any financial support when she made it?
Again, I’m not suggesting you have to give thek everything you own and not have any boundaries, but she presented their relationship like it was really good, do then why did Harry not meet him and why didn’t she help him financially?

I think by January, Harry just wants to be done with all the drama and kind of go away and travel in seclusion whether that’s by himself or with FD (Three of Wands). Three of Wands is a three, which represents creativity, love, expression and with Wands, which represents passion, love, and drive btw, which is why I say it might be with FD.He might travel somewhere for the hoildays and come back home for January mostly or he might stay at home all January (Four of Wands/Eight of Swords) but whatever he is, he’s content with being there (Nine of Cups).
If FD is in the picture, I still think it will be kept very much a secret (Moon/Nine of Swords Rx) because Harry doesn’t want to mess this up.
I also think something will come to light (Seven of Swords/The World), regarding something scandalous (Devil) involving Meghan more perhaps (since this is Meghan’s reading, even though Harry’s all over it). This can also represent again, FD and Harry sneaking around with her, because again I still believe they are married during this time or at least have something legally binding them together, and this would be still considered a affair even though Harry’s happy (World).
Reiterating here, no I don’t think their that happy right now (meaning January) in this marriage (Ten of Cups) even though Ten of Cups came up upright. I think they aren’t really working together or getting along at all (Three of Pen. People, aka Markle stans, are dumb. No one forced her to wear that dress. She easily could have worn a dress that fit and didn’t give the impression that she had gained weight instantaneously. But noooo….
Her fashion sense sucks and that’s all there is to it. Her fans/stans just won’t allow themselves to blame her for her own mistakes. No surprise there.
For the Brit brands: they are not used to give it to the royals for free. It’s just not done like that. Of course, Sarah Burton might give Kate a huge discount when she orders 5 coat-dressed from the same pattern but in 5 slighly different shades of pastel. But look at that from the perspective that at these numbers it’s no longer a bespoken, it’s a mass production! And Erdem might give Kate a wholesale discount for buying a whole line of curtain dresses in one day. I mean, they have to encourage their loyal customers. But absolutely free? Nope, still not done for the royals. As for Meghans: she does not have budget left. Whatever PC gave her, she blew it up already. So Canadian and US freebies it is. Whatever JM can find.

True, but she only looks good in a couple of silhouettes (pencil skirts, fitted dresses, cigarette pants, and fifties-style dresses). You can get a work wardrobe out of those pieces, IF you vary them with colors and patterns and add some statement jewelry. If you’re going to stick to monochromes and minimalist bling, it’s going to get real old, real fast.
And it already has. We’ve had about a dozen all-black looks, four or five tux/black suits, navy everything, countless black clutches, etc… If she wants the “hard-worker” labels, she’s going to have to put together about 200 looks a year. That’s 50 black tuxes, at least.
The only logical explanation I see for Rachel and her style choices is that she suffers from Achromatopsia, and a lot of people trolling her by lying about the color in front of her. So from here on out when I post pics of Rachel they will be in black/white/gray.
Notice how her dress and Harry’s tie match and the dark blue clutch is a great contrast.

Thanks for sending this in! The ironic part is that they are complaining about a 5k outfit, which is on THE LOW END for Meghan. I didn’t even bitch about the cost of that outfit because Meghan’s average outfit cost is now somewhere near the five figures.
I suspect the straw that broke the camel’s back was that it was a 5k plain black pantsuit and it’s the fourth thousand-dollar black pantsuit she owns.
The “crappy thing to do to a friend” referred to the fact that they brought their own paps, something I concluded after the same pap took close-up reception pics and long-lens pics of Harry at the beach and Harry only filed an official complaint regarding the (presumably unauthorized) beach pics. The reception pics were published pretty much everywhere without complaints being filed.
Well, well, well, even Lainey is now bitching about the “Best Dressed Star” label and acknowledging (for the first time ever!) that the People accolades are all because Meghan and Harry and leaking like crazy to the magazine.
