I’m not as familiar with Shinan’s writings as I
am with Lainey’s. I’ve only read him a few times. Generally, my impression of him is that he’s smarter than Lainey and doesn’t need to fan-girl over a celebrity in order to write about them.
I don’t disagree with much of what AHPF wrote about it except regarding Lainey’s usage of “Harry-era” friends.
I’m not convinced Lainey realizes or is going to write about how Megs uses and ditches people. Ever. It seems to me that Lainey is just dividing Megs life into pre-Harry and with-Harry. Lainey isn’t planning on there being a post-Harry at this point because she sure as hell hasn’t written about or alluded to it. All you have to do is go back and look at Lainey’s post from last December on Meghan Markle’s “friend problem.”
Lainey didn’t write at all about how Megs had no problem ditching her friend of 30 years. Her closing was “What is the friend’s end game?”
So from the get-go Lainey was out to blame the UK press and not looking deeper for why Meg’s friends wanted to sell her out to the press. I can’t recall seeing that change even now with all the shenanigans her father did with the press to get an invite. Lainey was blaming the “rogue relative” who supposedly doesn’t know anything, yet never discussing that her father was getting papped while having his measurements done outside a building in broad daylight.
Lainey clearly knows that Megs has a media strategy, but she doesn’t write it out for her readers. AT ALL. I remember listening to one of Lainey’s podcasts shortly after the engagement was announced, and I thought this exchange was interesting. (It starts at the 1:03 mark.)

think she is, and this week she’s certainly shown us that there is some game
here. That she may not in her role as a celebrity in Hollywood in show business
been able to exercise. She is certainly using that in the full force right now.
The interview was masterfully played. Their first walkabout was excellent….It’s

sides to her that we didn’t know that we couldn’t have anticipated. Given that,

ground work herself too…. Duana: Do you think she wiggled out of her
tweeting & promotional duties for season 7? Lainey: One hundred percent.
But has Lainey written about how–coincidence or conspiracy–Megs is always releasing more wedding information every time anything remotely damaging is coming out in the UK press these days? Nope. And I don’t expect her to write anything like that until this relationship between Harry and Megs goes belly-up. At that point, Lainey will write some sort of retrospective, but she’s not going to write the details most people will want to know about and can get elsewhere.
I don’t read Shinan’s column, but he seems much smarter than Lainey in what he said. Megs used her boyfriend to network:

I don’t get the Garner hate either. All the celebs use their little schticks to keep their press profile up. I’d rather they left the kids alone, but Jolie is now traipsing around the world using her kids for promo and Lainey loves her for it. How is that different form Garner?
Yup. Jolie pimps her kids out every chance she gets, and Lainey never remarks on it.
Nah, Lainey just gets weird crushes on celebs. The weird thing is that she always crushes on the real nutcases like Angie and Mariah. She invariably hates the saner and more professional celebs like Jennifer Gardner.
I knew Meg was a real psycho the instant Lainey started stanning for her. Lainey loooooooooves the psychos. The crazier Meg gets, the more Lainey will stan. Eventually, she’ll start going “yes, Meghan wore a lacy negligee to the Invictus concert and she rubbed her tits all over Justin Trudeau’s face, but that’s what makes her a precious butterfly and the royal pearl-clutchers can just stuff it because she’s modernizing the royal family and bringing racial justice to the UK one tit smear at a time” just like she does with Mariah.
CB things that saying that an MIT professor is a beautiful and intelligent woman is “unicornization,” but calling a z-list actress with bj scenes and messy hair the “best royal bride” ever is perfectly appropriate. That says it all.

Sad thing is I really liked the idea of her at first. I have a complicated family, and I like that she seems to be a bit rough around the edges. But oh boy. Read her blog. Saw her interviews … then the multiple pieces beyond her crazy family on how she burned bridges with people who were deeply in her life. Yikes!

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has been making the rounds across the US in a press tour, so he would be the most likely candidate, especially since CDAN is based in the US.
It would surprise me, and I think the blind refers to the Saudi Crown Prince and not him.
I think if Charles engaged in that kind of behavior, then we probably would have already heard it by now. It would give plenty of people another reason to hate him, which would have already made it to press by now if he did it on a regular basis.
Kate, btw, had her pegged from the start. She said Meghan was “[a]n opportunist WHO WILL DO OR SAY OR BE ANYTHING SHE HAS TO in order to make the marriage happen.” Totally nailed it.
I wouldn’t get your hopes up on this one. Morton’s book comes out in five days, so it’s already finished. Even in the US, he probably couldn’t print such a claim unless he actually named the men involved, and I don’t see that happening.
