Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, pose for photographers with their newborn baby boy outside the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital on April 23, 2018 in London, England. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child was born this morning at 11:01, weighing 8lbs 7oz.
You’re referring to this? I had people messaging me asking if something bad was going to happen with Kate and the baby. That’s why I said, “not the baby.”
Yep, she’s supposedly getting training, but I don’t see it.
It’s particularly grating because it’s a CHOGM event. Yes, you can rant and rave about royal privileges all you want, BUT THE ONLY REASON CHOGM EXISTS IS BECAUSE OF THE MONARCHY. Meghan is there because Harry’s granny is head of the Commonwealth. That’s the ONLY reason.
Honestly, I’m really kinda surprised that KP scheduled Harry and Meghan’s wedding so close to Kate’s due date.
I mean…there’s what? Less than 30 days til the wedding so even if she has baby Cambridge 3.0 in the next week, she’ll have to attend the wedding 3 weeks post partum. DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH OF A MOTHER FUCKING NIGHTMARE THAT WOULD BE. boobs leaking, vag bleeding, hormones out of control, and she has to pull it all together for the gigantic even that is this wedding. I mean. I do not envy the poor woman.
Wills coaching Catherine on how to properly aim for her target, and Catherine being adorably defeated in her attempt while on a royal tour of Bhutan (✿◠‿◠)
There are so many double standards like that. It’s ridiculous.
I bet Carole wanted desperately to ditch Gary, but, in the end, Gary had helped them out when they needed it and she couldn’t do it. I respect that more than Megs who ditched even the family members who helped her out and didn’t talk to the press.
If the baker had started to soak it by mid-March it would have been fine. But I imagine it would have had to be ordered by January or February to get everything prepared in time.
I suspect that’s one of the main problems these two are having planning their wedding. According to the leaks, they didn’t even seriously start the planning until January and then they mostly focused on the dress. You can’t expect to call around in March and get supplies for a 600 person wedding in two months. That’s a very tall order for anyone.
The article was amazing. The level of detail was incredible. I knew Kate’s cake was huge, but I didn’t realize that they also sent out 4000 boxes of fruitcake as souvenirs. That’s a lovely detail that I’m sure tons of people appreciated. I think the Express claimed that Meghan and Harry would have a separate fruitcake “to send to staff” or something and I imagine that’s what they were referring to. KP stepped in quickly to clarify that there would be no fruitcake whatsoever.
I’m starting to appreciate Kate’s wedding more. I wasn’t into the dress or the trees, so it was all kind of meh for me. However, I have to admit that she really achieved her goal of focusing on British craftsmanship and tradition (the cake, the lace, the flowers) and making those relevant to younger generations.
Yep, you know, at the time I assumed that that was forced on her and that if you were a royal bride you HAD to use the Royal School of Needlework, Victorian flower language, lilies, traditional cake-making craftsmanship and all that stuff. I thought she just showed up and said “I like white,” and everything else they just kind of forced on her because “protocol” and “tradition.”
But, like, her vaunted discretion, it now appears to have been her own personality and her own appreciating for fine craftsmanship and tradition. Meghan has shown us that there is very little required protocol and tradition in any of this.
Posting this, just because it gives me an opportunity to post this awesome article from back in December, which I somehow missed. It’s about the royal souvenir business in China.
it turns out everyone wanted Diana’s ring. No one wanted Meghan’s.
I don’t think she’d even met Meghan at this point, but she had her pegged to at “t.”
I think I read somewhere that Kate was very quiet, but very influential and that Will listened to her closely and trusted her judgement 100%. I dismissed that as pr twaddle when I first read it, but I think it may be true now. The only part of this charade that hasn’t been a complete disaster was Pippa’s wedding.
Kate, btw, had her pegged from the start. She said Meghan was “[a]n opportunist WHO WILL DO OR SAY OR BE ANYTHING SHE HAS TO in order to make the marriage happen.” Totally nailed it.
If I was going to harbor a guess of when Kate is going to give birth–which is something I’m not really interested in–then I would guess between 0900 on 22 April and 0900 on 24 April.
Patricia Treble’s analysis of the Royals engagements. HM is actually 24% above last year. And she has comment about Harry’s leisurely work schedule. Thinks he wil drop out of the top 10 royals by April at this rate. Not good when your pregnant sister in law beats you. Will has almost doubled his numbers. PC as always with Anne are the workhorses of the RF along with HM.
