I think Harry did the “oh, isn’t my wife so great” rendition at this event because things between him and his wife aren’t so great at the moment. Why talk about how you’re wife is so great when it’s not the right moment, unless you desperately need everyone else to think so?
Yep, I think that’s why the sourcing in these articles recently aren’t so direct. People don’t understand that if people want the tea and to keep getting the tea themselves, they have to protect the source as well. Nobody is gonna rat out info on someone if it’s gonna be too big of liability to them (which leaking on the royals would be) which is why a lot of the sources go unnamed or fake names are made to protect their identities.
I don’t read sugar outlets like that unless I have to for information. Lainey can say all she want about the Cambridge kids, she’ll regret it when this MM fairytale crashes and burns.

After reading that, I’m practically convinced that there will be a new article about Meg’s behind-the-scenes behavior that will drop this weekend. It’s almost as if they’re planning on it with the “victim” angle of competing courts. Somehow, this didn’t really happen when Andrew married Fergie with the “competing courts” claim, of course, because it’s not true.
Harry’s court isn’t going to be so “senior” given that he can’t get his wife to walk without clutching her barely-there bump. They’re getting sentenced to “Siberia,” which Lainey didn’t even comment on. Can’t say I’m surprised about that because Lainey didn’t cover the royal Remembrance outings this past weekend. She can’t write glowing words about Megs not being on the balcony together with the future queens, or sitting next to the curtains at the concert. I thought that Lainey not doing a write-up about that at the beginning of the week was a glaring omission. And not an accidental one.

Never have I seen a care tag at the bottom seam of a dress. It’s usually attached via safety pin to the neck label TO BE SEEN!
I think they are throwing Self Portrait under the bus, which is weird because Kate has worn that brand for years and we’ve never seen a tag.
Yep, Tom Sykes/Lainey/Celebitchy et al are desperately trying to argue that the Cambridges are jealous and upset about all the attention that Harry and Meghan are getting, but I just don’t think that is the case.
Meghan is great for Will and Kate. They look mature, serious, discreet, and functional in comparison.
Kate’s outfits came across as a bit too girly and unprofessional before, but they are uber appropriate compared to Meghan’s un-ironed blouses, dirty shoes, and oversize bathrobe coats. Will looks more regal than Harry. Kate’s clothing bills appear frugal in comparison to Meghan’s. The Cambridge’s appearances, which used to seem too superficial, are better planned and a lot more substantive than Meghan and Harry’s.
Even Meghan’s crap family works in the Cambridge’s favor. Uncle Gary is no longer an issue. Carole is actually described as “staying behind the scenes” now. Pippa’s wedding was amazing (and discreet!) compared to Meghan’s. In addition, the Cambridges are now growing closer to the other royals.
I am not sure why the sugar gang is trying to spin the Cambridges as jealous or insecure. Meghan is the Fergie that Kate didn’t know she wanted.

2/2 – Do you listen to Lainey’s podcasts? Her co-podcast producer mentioned that they used to do a lot of fashion/entertainment/regional hotspot segments with local based celebrities. Apparently there is a LOT of b-roll sitting around Toronto with Rachel fake-lifestyle guruing. The producer mentioned she though Rachel was basic AF, and it was jarring to have one of their own (or someone even lower than them on the thirsty-social TO totem pole) in the BRF.

They discuss Megs and the wedding for the first 17 and a half minutes. Sasha openly says that Megs did NOT come across as completely genuine during the wedding.
They also discuss Meg’s fashion disaster from her first outing as a royal.
I think Lainey actually even says during the podcast that she’s not sure she’s ever liked Meghan’s style.
You know, things Lainey will say talking on a podcast that she won’t put in writing for her readers…
But I don’t disagree that it’s going to be a hot and fiery summer. Megs is probably going to risk the “bigger cut” though. She’s too dumb to avoid the small cuts this summer.
It’s insightful, but I don’t understand why people are still in denial about Meghan being a Markle through and through. Meghan has no fucks to give. She’s always trying to rewrite the story. She uses technology to amplify everything.
She’s 100% Markle. She’s been doing what her family is doing now since Day 1. They use TMZ; she used US Weekly. They use Coleman Rayner; She used Constant Media. They use books and exercise equipment as props; She used baseball caps and monogrammed necklaces.
Megs isn’t “trusty and well-beloved” like Kate. There’s a reason why Megs is never going to get harmless coverage from Fleet Street like Kate. Kate doesn’t have the baggage that Megs has.
All CelebJihad has to do is release more of Meg’s nudes and sex tape. That will settle the issue once and for all that Kensington Palace won’t be able to make Megs press life “placid.”
And personally, I’d appreciate it if CelebJihad would release that sex tape tomorrow or Thursday. It’d would give us time to appreciate the Decon 1 meltdown of Kensington Palace’s press office right before the wedding. Releasing it on Friday won’t have any effect since the FA Cup final is on Saturday.
I’m not as familiar with Shinan’s writings as I
am with Lainey’s. I’ve only read him a few times. Generally, my impression of him is that he’s smarter than Lainey and doesn’t need to fan-girl over a celebrity in order to write about them.
I don’t disagree with much of what AHPF wrote about it except regarding Lainey’s usage of “Harry-era” friends.
I’m not convinced Lainey realizes or is going to write about how Megs uses and ditches people. Ever. It seems to me that Lainey is just dividing Megs life into pre-Harry and with-Harry. Lainey isn’t planning on there being a post-Harry at this point because she sure as hell hasn’t written about or alluded to it. All you have to do is go back and look at Lainey’s post from last December on Meghan Markle’s “friend problem.”
Lainey didn’t write at all about how Megs had no problem ditching her friend of 30 years. Her closing was “What is the friend’s end game?”
So from the get-go Lainey was out to blame the UK press and not looking deeper for why Meg’s friends wanted to sell her out to the press. I can’t recall seeing that change even now with all the shenanigans her father did with the press to get an invite. Lainey was blaming the “rogue relative” who supposedly doesn’t know anything, yet never discussing that her father was getting papped while having his measurements done outside a building in broad daylight.
Lainey clearly knows that Megs has a media strategy, but she doesn’t write it out for her readers. AT ALL. I remember listening to one of Lainey’s podcasts shortly after the engagement was announced, and I thought this exchange was interesting. (It starts at the 1:03 mark.)

At that point, Lainey will write some sort of retrospective, but she’s not going to write the details most people will want to know about and can get elsewhere.

Yep, and Meghan and Harry will be hailed as social justice trailblazers for having POC acts at royal events when there are usually POC acts at these events. Commonwealth service had POC, Queen Birthday concert had POC. One of the best parts of royal watching the BRF is how diverse the line-ups usually are and how other cultures are represented.
So, no, Lainey, Harry and Meghan are not “coloring outside the lines” here by choosing POC acts for their highly-televised wedding. They are very strictly INSIDE the BRF lines. This is something you would know if you only did basic research, like checking the Kingdom Choir website where they clearly state that they were the lead choir during the BBC-broadcasted Golden Jubilee.
OMG, the damage control on her “use-em and ditch-em” friend and family strategy has begun and it is absolutely hilarious.
She totally has very close, strong friends…who she Skypes or texts once in a while. Oh, and she will probably have to give because of her new life. These friends are totally discreet…except that they are talking to Vanity Fair and pretty much everyone else. The British paparazzi who supposedly hounded her and made her life miserable…now “adhere to agreements regarding the use of paparazzi imagery” which is why we don’t see her out and about even though we see Kate doing her school runs and Will playing football.

Lainey doesn’t have children. She has friends who have children. She also has a niece and nephew. Lainey is an only child, so she has no sibling rivalry to relate to.

Yeah, I agree with you. I think other people have noted the similarity between them. I don’t think Charles had the most/best supportive parenting growing up. Last I recall, his grandmother, the Queen Mum did a lot of parenting/mothering for him.
