Oy vey Brat… You’ve never seen Amadeus? You, the movie buff? Girl… It’s weirdly iconic (even though it plays around with the facts) and worth the watch and a few chuckles on a rainy day. The 18th c had a love child with the 80s and called it Amadeus :P it’s brilliant! Even made it into a Simpsons episode. Whatever you do, don’t watch a director’s cut version – it’s long enough as it is!

Yeah, it came out when I was a kid. I remember (vaguely) people talking about how long it is when it was released. I’ve just never been motivated to sit down and watch it, possibly because of hearing people say that it was soooo loooong. Maybe I’ll have to give it a try in the next few months.

Wonder Woman 2 Will Be Set in the 1980s

dcmultiverse:

Patty Jenkins has confirmed that Wonder Woman 2 will be another period piece, this time set in the 1980s. Although most of the DCEU has been set in a chronological order, Wonder Woman has been the rare exception. Though Wonder Woman first appeared in the film franchise during Batman V Superman, the majority of her debut movie was set during World War I, the earliest that any superhero movie story has been set.

There was heavy speculation that Wonder Woman 2 would follow suit, given the ending of Diana’s debut. Wonder Woman has a rather bittersweet ending with Diana mourning the death of Steve Trevor but still resolving to help humanity and be a part of the world. This was at odds with Diana’s story in both BvS and Justice League, where she was re-entering the world after a long absence. It appears that among many other things, Wonder Woman 2 will answer the lingering mystery of Diana’s disappearance.

“What I was trying to do was make it impressionistic of what it would feel like to live there at that time, so I wanted it to be a style of acting and setting as natural as possible. Then we take artistic license in altering things, to convey more what it would feel like at that time, using music that gives the emotional quality that I wanted the scene to have, as opposed to what actually might be a song [from the era]. A combination to create the impression of what it might have been like.” — Sofia Coppola

You are Superman, aren’t you? Lois, look, we’ve been through these hallucinations of yours before. Can’t you see what you almost did? Throwing yourself off a building 30 stories high? Can’t you see what a tragic mistake you almost made? I made a mistake? I made a mistake because I risked my life instead of yours. Lois! Don’t be insane! And don’t fall down ‘cause you’re just going to have to get up again!

At the closing of the film where Bender raises his fist in defiance. He was supposed to just walk into the sunset, so to speak, and John Hughes asked him to play around with a few actions. When he was done and they were finishing up, Nelson threw his fist up without running it by anyone. Everyone loved it, and it has also become an iconic symbol of the 1980s.

“This is not just a magazine. This is a shining beacon of hope for… Oh, I don’t know… let’s say a young boy growing up in Rhode Island with six brothers, pretending to go to soccer practice when he was really going to sewing class and reading Runway under the covers at night with a flashlight.” – The Devil Wears Prada (2006)

Breaking News: Spielberg Enters the World of DC with “Blackhawk” | DC

justiceleague:

Fresh on the heels of Ready Player One (which features cameo appearances by Batman, Harley Quinn, Batgirl and more), Steven Spielberg is ready to dive into the DC Universe proper with Blackhawk, a just-announced feature film from Spielberg, Amblin Entertainment and Warner Bros. Pictures based on the classic DC series about a squadron of WWII-era pilots. Blackhawk, which Spielberg is hoping to direct, will be his first featured centered around characters from the DC Universe.

In announcing the film, Warner Bros. Pictures Group Chairman Toby Emmerich said, “We are so proud to be the studio behind Steven Spielberg’s latest hit, and are thrilled to be working with him again on this new action adventure. We can’t wait to see what new ground he will break in introducing Blackhawk to movie audiences worldwide.”

Lady Blackhawk better be in there. Just sayin’…

Cathy Yan Is Warner Bros’ Choice To Direct Margot Robbie In Next Harley Quinn Film

justiceleague:

Warner Bros and DC Entertainment have chosen Cathy Yan to be the director of an untitled girl gang movie, likely the next superhero film to be graced by Suicide Squad scene-stealer Harley Quinn, in the form of Margot Robbie. A deal has to be completed, but it is expected that Yan will become the second female filmmaker to join the DC club after Wonder Woman‘s Patty Jenkins, and the first female Asian director ever tapped to direct a superhero film.

Yan got the job over numerous well established male directors, and because she is taking this giant leap with just one small-budget indie movie under her belt. That would be Dead Pigs, a film that won the World Cinema Dramatic Award For Ensemble Acting at Sundance last January. Despite being a new talent, Yan’s presentation for Birds of Prey was exceptional, and Robbie held firm to her desire for this film to be directed by a woman.

Diana: Does it bother
either of you that Thor straight up tries to murder Captain America in this
movie?

Ian: When? In the woods?

Diana: Yes! Guys,
this is an attempted murder. Thor is fighting Iron Man who is clearly wearing
armor, but then Cap shows up and literally just says, “Let’s stop fighting” and
Thor, having no idea the shield can stop Mjolnir, brings it down right on his
head! We should have a pile of Cap mush.

Andrew: If that had
been a regular shield Thor would have just murdered a man so hard the body
would be unidentifiable.

Ian: It would be
great to see that and then Thor is just like, “What? No! I thought you were all
super strong!”

Diana: Thor’s been to
Earth, he knows we’re mushy.

Ian: Yeah but he’s
been punching Iron Man for like ten minutes.

Diana: Iron Man is in
metal armor, Cap is in spandex! He can see the difference.

Andrew: If it was a
regular shield Cap would have been turned to powder.

Diana: What a dark
movie that would be, if Thor murdered Cap and then they all still had to work
together.

Andrew: No, just credits.
That’s the death of Captain America
and the end of the movie.

Ian: It’s just Loki up
on that mountain cheering, “Woo, I win! Nice work brother!”
