I don’t want to sound like I am joining the tinfoil hat brigade but this pregnancy…. It strikes me that Will and Kate have not said one word about it. Will was even asked about becoming an Uncle and changed the subject to avoid answering. The pr folks who came to the sites after the wedding said be prepared for a fake pregnancy at tour time. So now with the W and K no comment situation which is so unusual I am starting to wonder. The Zika thing was madness too.

Oh, I think she’s pregnant. I don’t think Megs is as far along as she said she was when it was announced. I think she was probably 10 weeks along maximum when it was announced, and I’m not super convinced she was even that far along when she announced.

I suspect Will and Kate’s attitude probably has to do with a number of things, such as:

  1. Meg’s treatment of staff
  2. Announcing the pregnancy at Eugenie’s wedding
  3. Announcing the pregnancy right before a royal tour
  4. Self-absorbed behavior during the tour
  5. Bellycupping

Will and Kate have a number of reasons not to be super happy about the situation. 

I suspect what galls people behind the scenes even further is Megs lack of regular health precautions while pregnant. What is known and suspected at this point includes:

  1. Drinking (champagne without food on a solo flight to Canada)
  2. Partying at Soho House, which includes more drinking.
  3. Suspected use of Xanax (when she wore that blue Jason Wu dress to an engagement)
  4. Possible exposure to Zika virus
  5. Exposure to pesticides used to combat mosquitos carrying Zika virus. 
  6. Hair straightening chemicals

And that’s just what I can think of offhand. Will and Kate likely know more, and they’re probably appalled. They know what it means to keep the mother and the baby healthy during a pregnancy. Megs clearly isn’t doing the same. Meg’s recklessness is appalling. And it clearly speaks to the reckless attitude she would have when she’s a mother. 

So I’m not surprised that Will and Kate haven’t issued a public congratulations. They’re probably still bracing for impact for another episode of assholery from the Duchess of Mean!

Meghan is angry with William for 2 days now with the decision of the offices. She thought she would be freer. I think she is beginning to understand, in early 2019 she will really realize the consequences of her actions.

Angry? Where do you get that Megs has been angry–specifically with William–for 2 days? 

I would bet that Megs is probably very happy with the arrangement since she thinks she knows best when it comes to media attention.

Lol Maybe this is why the split was done while they were gone lol but I almost can say that HM/PC will have words w/ them on representing the BRF/UK. Even in that from our “family” remark Harry made saying “From my grandmother and The Queen” you know he’s trying to make it sound that “it’s all good” when in fact KP is splitting and they’ve made a joke of this tour. Yes to the spilt, it’s a smart move on HM/PC to tighten the spending, I’m mean look at how much money MM has spent on just clothes. At her rate of spending and for the sake of argument, she’s using her “own” money, plus her own PR, she’s paying them a lot considering how many articles are out there, she is or almost broke. Even with residual money from the show, still needs to be taxed, but not that much. Harry has to still account for his money. Doing it now, something must of been discovered.

I feel like I’ve always heard that she’s currently paying for her pr shenanigans by merching whatever freebies are given to her. Obviously I have no way to confirm if that’s true or not. 

Just think about how bad she must be behind the scenes in ways we don’t know about. Harry & Megs haven’t even been married six months yet, and William wants to cut them out of his life professionally!

This split is great news for Meghan and the Cambridges, but it’s horrible news for Harry. William was his last line of defense before going down the rabbit hole that previous wayward spares fell down. Meghan doesn’t care because now she can do whatever she wants without being checked, she plans to bail in the near future and go full celeb post-divorce so she doesn’t care about any longterm consequences. I’m so happy that William is finally putting his own family first, instead of guarding H.

I agree that although Charles (and HM) are notoriously thrifty, there is no price too great to ultimately protect the monarchy itself.  Charles knows that the moment the RF are seen as “just celebrities,” their whole reason for existence (and taxpayer funding) goes out the window.  So it may cost him upfront, but it will be worth every penny in the long run to save the crown.  

I also suspect that he knows that by paying more for the separation now, he could be saving a lot in the long run.  The fame and money is her oxygen and as you’ve mentioned before, she won’t stay around long if she doesn’t have top billing and unlimited funds.  She didn’t sign up to do lunches with the garden club in a 8 year old dress.  

W&K will get the best staff, the more high profile events and goodies (as they should.)  The kids will continue to slowly get more exposure.  It’s amazing when I look back how much of this was already beginning to happen.  We were all noticing and commenting on it but just not sure if it was part of a larger plan.  I think now we can say for sure it was.  The more serious, heavy events for Will; the regal (yet sturdy) wardrobe and accessories for Kate (including the RFO, and Queen Alexandra’s necklace); holding the Cambridge kids back at H&M’s wedding, the photo of H&M virtually shunned outside of E’s wedding…

It’s incredible to me how much this could possibly mirror Edward’s “separation.“  “Go ahead, go live your fabulous celebrity life, but you have to do it away from us."  They may have allowed Harry to marry Meghan and given her the goodies to a point because they had no other choice (Harry played that R card very early with the statement) but they WILL not allow these two to sink the whole ship.  This is the crown slowly lowering these two in a lifeboat, and eventually they will cut that rope.

“She didn’t sign up to do lunches with the garden club in an 8 year old dress” is absolutely right. She actually tried to fit in right after the wedding, with the fug pink Givenchy and salad bowl hats and all that crap. It did not work for her and she knows it. 

Harry and Meghan want to be Brangelina and the brf has been through this before and they know how it ends. They’ll let Harry and Meghan do it, but they’ll make sure the main branch is protected.

I’m totally for this. William has been very clear that he did not want to be a celebrity, but Jason’s tabloid-friendly media strategy flirted with that status heavily (which is how they ended up with Meghan). I’m glad they are now backing away.

I think we’ll see even less “official” duties for Harry and Meghan after this tour. They will end up going full celeb.

I’d say the split offices is because they suspect some financial shenanigans are going on and they need to keep will and kate clear of it. Harry is broke. Megsy is not a thrifty housewife LOL. The split is a loss of status for them and less resources. She won’t like that. And rumor is they will keep tightening the screws. Watch November. More changes especially to relieve the staff of her abuse.

I suspect the office split is happening right now as I type this, separating Will & Kate’s staff from Harry and Megs while they’re away on their baby-bump & PDA tour. Easier for the staff to prepare for it when they don’t have to interact with those two dumbasses on a day-to-day basis for more than two weeks.

I’m not expecting any office changes to happen in the spring, but that’s probably because I expect Megs to be over this relationship/marriage starting around March 20, 2019.

Ive read the articles about the split & it says “the Cambs & Sussexes may split after Meghan gives birth” so all the statements are implying nothing it set in stone as to when the split will actually take place. Im hoping it takes place come New Years. Why wait until she gives birth?

I apologize for asking such a dumb question but what is the importance of the William attending the Duchy of Cornwall engagement? I love the RF but dont know how it works or anything

Not a dumb question at all. It can be very confusing!! So the Duchy of Cornwall is a title reserved for the heir apparent and son of the monarch. It’s one of only two titles that comes automatically with a financial portfolio largely from property and land. That income provides funding for the activities of the Duke and their family. The Duke manages that portfolio. So William attending meetings for the Duchy before he’s actually the Duke shows that he’s preparing for the role. It’s part of the transition process that will happen when the Queen passes. It’s basically like Charles preparing to hand over the torch to William. And the fact William attended the meeting on his own- not as like a shadow to Charles- is also significant as it’s something he’s doing as part of his own development now. They’re including him as an important figure in his own right.

So the traditional royal family order – the one worn by Camilla, Sophie, Diana – is made of ivory. William is an outspoken and active opponent of the illegal ivory trade, and has spent much of his royal life promoting conservation and combatting poachers, the illegal trade, that sort of thing. It was a theory that Catherine hadn’t yet gotten the order from HM because it’s made of ivory, and that would have been a slap in the face to William. Kate’s order is made of glass, which means HM consciously made a few decisions – first, to grant her granddaughter in law this very big honor, and second, to do it in a way that honors her grandson and eventual heir’s wishes. It’s a huge success for William and Catherine. Convincing HM to change anything isn’t easy, but at least one of them convinced HM to do this. It’s a really, really big deal.

I think Will is defiantly at odds w/ Harry now that MM is wearing Diana’s jewelry. They weren’t talking at the wedding, even the past event they both attended wasn’t the same brotherly love we’ve seen. If I was Will, I’d be pissed too. Those earrings sent even MM’s style nor do they look good on her. 🙄

Defiantly? I see no evidence of that. We have no idea how they interacted at the reception, where there were no press cameras. 

Wearing Diana’s jewelry may be loaned. I seem to recall the huge, aquamarine ring Megs wore in her reception photos was referred to as a loan for the occasion. 

Regardless, her wearing her deceased mother-in-law’s jewelry is kind of gross.

I did a graph of Harry’s engagements for mental health since the launch of Heads Together after receiving a message asking if his work in the area had tailed off. @avidroyalfan– one of the few people in the fandom who loves graphs and data as much as me- asked if I could do one including Kate and William so voila. I’ve gone hella gender normative so Kate’s pink, William’s blue and Harry’s black because it looked better next to the other colours. This graph shows the number of mental health focused engagements completed each month since the launch in May 2016:

NB. Some things to consider: Their spike in engagements in March/April 2017 came about due to the London Marathon. Kate was off work with Hyperesmesis Gravidarum in September 2017 and on maternity leave from late March until early October 2018. Harry married in May 2018 and had a reduced programme that month.
