The Crown, Season 3: love, romance – and Europe

You can’t escape from Brexit anywhere these days. Fans of The Crown might have thought that season 3 of the story of the House of Windsor under Elizabeth II would be a safe haven from Euro talk, but they’re in for a shock. The third instalment will include the moment that The Queen watched the UK enter the Common Market.

That political milestone is just one of the major historical events which…

Queen can ease your pain, Meghan told

motherofbulldogs:

Just remember – for any of the blogs out there saying that this is coming from the Cambridges only – or that it’s completely made up, this was in THE TIMES this weekend. And THE TIMES doesn’t print anything royal without approval.

(I don’t have access to THE TIMES; otherwise, I would post the whole article. But, of course, the Mail plagiarizes the main points: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-6451549/Insiders-urge-Meghan-turn-Queen-amid-feud-rumours.html

Queen can ease your pain, Meghan told

True, they won’t still be together by the time Charles is officially king, however, the public gives QEII a pass cos she’s served well and for so long and now she’s old. The Harkle debacle rests squarely on Charles head.

Don’t agree. It rests mostly on Harry’s head because it’s his wife. Any fallout will affect Harry’s public position not Charles’ position.

Also, Charles isn’t officially regent at this point, so this is all still on Elizabeth’s watch.

Tbh I dont think the Queen nor Charles see bringing Doria as a way to accomplish anything. If you bring Doria, you better bring the Midds too. Bringing Doria would not show unity, only favoritism & at times like this, they need to show unity between the remaining senior royals that will tow the royal line when the Queen is gone. When the Harkle marriage goes south & turns ugly the last thing Charles needs is to show favoritism towards the problem couple. Itll reflect poorly on Charles judgement

Fit for a King: Prince Charles’s christening sponsors, 15 December 1948

Fit for a King: Prince Charles’s christening sponsors, 15 December 1948

Born just three-and-a-half years after VE Day 1945, HRH Prince Charles Philip Arthur George of Edinburgh was very much a post-war baby.  Even his christening, on 15 December 1948,  was a reminder of the impact of the war. It could not take place in the Private Chapel at Buckingham Palace, where his mother had been baptised, because it had not yet recovered from wartime bombing. The beautiful…

When the Queen dies, how are gonna know? Is the palace announcing it or are we hearing from tabloids first?

duchessofostergotlands:

A press release will be issued either at the time or first thing the next morning and all major stations in the UK will interrupt broadcasting to share the news. It will be broadcast on every channel and will dominate news for quite some time. You won’t be able to miss it and everyone will get the info at the same time (although of course there might be rumours before hand)

Do all tiaras in the BRF belong to the Queen?

duchessofostergotlands:

So there’s three main types of tiaras in the British royal family

1) The Queen’s personal tiaras- these are pieces that she personally owns. She can choose what she wants to do with them moving forward, who she bestows them on etc

2) Tiaras owned by the Crown- these tiaras are not the Queen’s personal collection so she can’t sell them but she is considered their guardian and decides who can wear them and when

3) Tiaras owned by other members of the family- some tiaras are owned by other members of the family. Some examples of these tiaras and where they came from:

Cartier Indian Tiara- This was bequeathed to the Duke of Gloucester so wouldn’t be worn by people outside their family

image

Festoon tiara- This was a personal gift to Anne from a shipping company

image

City of London Fringe tiara- this was given as a wedding gift to Princess Marina and has since been passed through the Kent line

image

Ogilvy tiara- This was made for Princess Alexandra’s wedding so she is the only person who wears it and may pass it on to her family

EVENING DRESS |  Worn for a State Banquet at Schloss Brühl, during the State Visit to Germany, May 1965.
The ornate embroidery over the bodice of this dress was inspired by the rococo interiors of the palaces at Schloss Brühl, which Hardy Amies thoroughly researched prior to The Queen’s historic visit to the country, the first to take place since before the Second World War.
The Queen also chose to wear this dress for a series of official photographs taken by Cecil Beaton in the White Drawing Room at Buckingham Palace in 1968

if she left early and before the Queen as stated in the Kay article that is very telling of her status now within the family. The protocol which would be observed at this party is no one leaves before the Queen. PP left but he is the Queen’s husband and at his age it would be understandable. Harry and MM leaving before the Queen suggests they were told probably beforehand that there stay would be a short one. THe end date on this is soon at least privately.

I’m not sure I believe that they were told to leave early. I think they left early voluntarily. I think Charles would want his younger son there as long as possible.

I suspect Megs would want to leave early because it’s not about her, and she’s not into celebrating other people when she can’t be the star. Harry has to leave because his wife wants to leave.

Marjorie Orr did a reading on PC she predicts that he will become King so coronation in 2023. Lots of Emotional Change for him in 2022 so possibly the death of the Queen. I don’t see Harry & Meghan divorcing before the Queen passes they wont allow it. They’ll have to stick it out and make it work. 2022 will see them separate and 2023 divorce. So five years of marriage with two Children. Another reader saw 5 years no more them 8.

talkingtarot:

We’ll just have to wait and see to be honest. I don’t know why they couldn’t divorce while the Queen’s alive, it would be more problematic and bad for it to be under Charles’s reign since he isn’t that popular and he’s gonna have to rely on the Cambridges and Harry to not just make him look better but to help with duties as well. It would look worse for it to happen under Charles’s reign, than the Queen’s.

I agree with the 2023 timeline for Charles becoming king, but that doesn’t mean the coronation will happen in 2023. Maybe 2024 for that.

Queen Elizabeth and King Harald celebrated the The Anglo-Norse Society

Today was a historic day as Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth joined forces with the King of Norway in London – the day after they all celebrated the 70th birthday of the Prince of Wales. The King and Queen were gathered to mark the centenary of the Anglo-Norse Society. Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom and King Harald V of Norway are joint patrons, and the Norwegian ambassador is the honorary…

November 15, 2018 | Queen Elizabeth II and King Harald V attended the Anglo-Norse Society centenary reception at the Naval and Military Club in London. The Centenary Reception offers an opportunity to recognise members of the Anglo-Norse Society who have made a positive contribution to its community and culture over the past 100 years. Queen Elizabeth II and King Harald V are joint Patrons of the Anglo-Norse Society. The Society is a registered charity for the purpose of advancing the education of the citizens of Britain and Norway about each other’s country and way of life.

Queen Sonja had been due to join the pair but had been too unwell according to her husband.

““It is a privilege for any mother to be able to propose a toast to her son on his 70th birthday. It means that you have lived long enough to see your child grow up. It is rather like —to use an analogy I am certain will find favour — planting a tree and being able to watch it grow. My mother saw me turn 70, of course. And she was heard to observe that 70 is exactly the age when the number of candles on your cake finally exceeds the amount of breath you have to blow them out. Over his 70 years, Philip and I have seen Charles become a champion of conservation and the arts, a great charitable leader — a dedicated and respected heir to the throne to stand comparison with any in history — and a wonderful father. Most of all, sustained by his wife Camilla, he is his own man, passionate and creative. “So this toast is to wish a happy birthday to my son, in every respect a duchy original. “To you Charles. To the Prince of Wales.””

Royal-Tea with zero sympathy☕️ From one of our FB members!

Meghan just got played by Her Majesty. I’m sure most of you are aware of this DM story that ran about a week ago titled “Queen ‘invites Meghan’s mother Doria to spend Christmas with Royal Family at Sandringham’ – an offer never made to Kate’s relatives.”

Yeah, I’m sure the sugars were over the moon. Now, I can report this story was a leaked by MM’s PR people originally to the Express UK. In fact, the DM never had their own source—they just ran with it quoting the Express UK. This is sloppy by the DM and now it’s come back to haunt our little Megglet.

According to my source, PH called BP to clear the arrangements for his beloved mother-in-law to join the RF for Christmas.

That’s when things got crazy. Her Majesty’s aides promptly informed PH they HAD NO IDEA WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT.

OH SNAP! My source said palace gossip is QE aides played dumb causing PH to confront MM.

Megatron must have been feeding PH the line she needs to see her mommy and so what about Kate— her family lives here etc. For some reason PH was under the assumption Dorito would be cleared to join the RF at Christmas.

KP sources (a second-hand source) claim PH called back to once again try and get his mother-in-law cleared and he was told “NO.” PH was told QE didn’t appreciate the leaked story which was mean-spirited toward Kate.

That caused a huge row between MM and PH. MM screamed, “It’s my mom! She’s all alone! And I can invite her if I want! This ‘getting things cleared with Buckingham Palace’ is bull shit!”

PH screamed back, “Are you leaking to the press, again? Answer me, Meghan!” Then, per the inside sources, MM started crying denying she leaked anything. “I have no idea what you are talking about…you know the press makes up all kinds of stories about me. I can’t be expected to answer for that too!”

PH left the room and slammed the door. He must be starting to realize he isn’t married to this ideal woman who seemed to be perfect for him. No, now he is seeing the real monster he married.

The Queen played this perfectly. She waited— knowing at some point PH would have to make arrangements for Dorito. This tidbit was too good to sit on.

The ball is back in MM’s court. If she thinks she is going to dupe the Queen with obvious pro-Meghan, anti-Kate press leaks—she better think again!!

SO, what’s MM’s next move? Does she book a flight for Dorito anyway—to really push the issue or does she retreat?

Hi Brat. I like your blog. Regarding the tiara tantrum, I know many have pointed out that it was disrespectful towards the Queen, but she’s also an elderly lady, someone’s grandmother. MM has absolutely no manners, consideration, respect or decorum.

Nope! But that’s not entirely surprising given she only invited her mother to her wedding. Couldn’t even include any of her mother’s relatives, you know, her non-Markle relatives.
