I guess you are right the UK is going through a tough time but I believe it will be bigger for the monarchy once The Queen is gone.

Eventually everyone will adjust. It’s has been so long since a different monarch reigned that anyone else reigning is just inconceivable to so many people. Not that many people are alive that can remember King George VI as king, so not having her around is just something people can’t imagine.

Then what do you think will happen once The Queen goes?

I think the UK in general is just going through a tough time period that will last until about the end of 2020. So things will eventually get better after all the Brexit shit gets sorted out.

By the time she passes away, all of that will have been sorted out. Things will be better than where they are today with people freaking out about Harry’s engagement to MM, and other people mad at the people who don’t like MM.

“Philip was fiercely protective of her when her energy started flagging. He would leap to her side and wave off photographers, if he thought they were getting too close or might embarrass her. ‘Don’t jostle the Queen,’ he’d say.”

This is adorable!!

EVENING DRESS | Worn for the State Visit to Nepal, February 1961 and for the Royal Film Performance of West Side Story, 1962.
This dress provides an excellent example of Hartnell’s skill as a designer for The Queen. The dress reflects the tailored silhouette of 1960s eveningwear while the rich embroidery and fabric sets the dress apart from his collection models for the season, turning it into a unique dress appropriate for The Queen’s duties.

oh yeah – she wore the white coat so she could be noticed. Very big breach when in HM’s presence to do that. She can reject protocol with Harry but not at an official function and with the Queen. Markle crossed the line. Now she gets a lesson. Good. ’bout time.

If we’re right, then that means that upstaging the Queen at a family event (Sandringham) is totes fine, but upstaging the Queen at an event where she is appearing as Head of State is an absolute no-no. This makes sense to me.

Has Kate ever done something like this? I’m trying to remember, but nothing comes up.

Sorry, I don’t believe that The Queen personally likes M. Even before they met, M was nothing but DRAMA, DRAMA, DRAMA and more DRAMA. Let’s add to that all the: lies, hypocrisy, divisive race-baiting, fame-whoring, $$$, aggressive/upstaging PR, and all the bs that continues. To me, M represents everything TQ dislikes. But! I don’t expect TQ to publicly state: “We cannot stand the Bitch!” Instead, I expect a “diplomatic” response to any questions about her views re M.

anonymoushouseplantfan:

Yep.

CHOGM is a big deal both to the RF and the UK Gov. She can’t be trusted and they sure do not want her scene stealing (attempted) at something serious. She showed at Church she can’t behave well. So she’s out.

anonymoushouseplantfan:

I’m starting to wonder if this is the correct take.

I saw a lot of people interpreting Meghan’s Commonwealth Service outfit as following the agreed-upon navy dress code. I actually interpreted it the exact opposite. I think her cream ensemble was designed to make her stand out. Yes, I know Anne also wore cream, but no one looks at Anne.

I suspect they were told to dress in navy so they wouldn’t upstage the Queen’s cranberry dress, and Meghan hogged the spotlight with her white coat and hat. Yes, it technically fit the dress code, but I doubt anyone was amused with her cleverness. Mocking Liam’s performance didn’t help her cause any, imo. The fact that a ton of people interpreted the dress code as the BRF supporting Meghan and not as everyone stepping into line and supporting the Queen was also not good.

The Queen and Sir David Attenborough team to protect forests in new documentary film.
ITV1 will air a one-off special documentary following ‘Her Majesty
the Queen and an ambitious legacy project to create a global network of

conversation between the Queen and beloved nature broadcaster Sir David
Attenborough in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.

“Don’t forget there’s a very double-edged sword. People tend to forget when she passed the longest reigning monarch, that was only because her father died so young. So you know for her that’s a very mixed blessing, and you know it’s a record that she would much rather not have been able to pass.”

I think the 20th – 21st – CHOGM ended so won’t interfere with that. Plus Cambridge #3 should have arrived and will distract a bit. HM’s birthday so she won’t have to be at any family celebration. But yeah the 17th sounds good too. Also avoids HM’s birthday even better. But this is ending. There won’t be a wedding. She’ll show for the 6th and maybe the youth forum but it is clear this is done.

I can’t say that the Queen’s birthday on April 21st will be a happy occasion for her this year.

Patricia Treble’s analysis of the Royals engagements.  HM is actually 24% above last year.  And she has comment about Harry’s leisurely work schedule.  Thinks he wil drop out of the top 10 royals by April at this rate.  Not good when your pregnant sister in law beats you.  Will has almost doubled his numbers.  PC as always with Anne are the workhorses of the RF along with HM.

Thanks! That is very interesting. Here are Harry’s numbers from that blog post.

And he’s only that high because he is counting his lunches and African vacays in that total.

Sophie and Edward are doing great as well. I’m glad to see that. I just hope Kate keeps her work schedule up after the baby is born.
