Fit for a king: a Prince Harry style makeover

anonymoushouseplantfan:

Holy guac. I CANNOT stop laughing about this. They are picking out a “Mr. Markle” makeover for him. Usually this goes the other way around and it’s the princess getting the makeover. LOL, not this time.

I can’t over stress how brilliant KUWTBD’s “Meghan is the sophisticated royal and Harry the peasant fiancee” summation was. She really nailed it.

Philips thoughts on Diana?

sea-dukes-assistant:

I know this has been sitting in the box 5ever, but I needed some time to do some readin’ and these days organizing my thoughts can take some time.  #BrainTraumaProblems

Basically, Sea Duke had no beef with her initially; if anything he understood her position as he was an “outsider” at first as well.  His frustration lied mostly with Charles, due to Charles’ initial indecisiveness and inaction regarding marriage.   Sir did try to get both of them to work through their issues (writing to Diana and talking with Charles), but obviously not much came from his efforts.

When things got ugly though, Sea Duke’s opinion of her soured, though not to the extent as it did with Fergie.  He was mad af with Diana manipulating the media like she did and bringing discredit upon the monarchy.  His perspective changed to “If she wants out, she can stay out.”  So, he tried, shit still fell apart, and everything was terrible, and he’d just about had enough of that nonsense.  Kind of a “you can’t have your cake and eat it too” thing.

Sea Duke also was quite tired of her brother’s shit regarding wtf his own grandBAMFlets were to do at her funeral, quite literally telling him to “fuck off” on more than one occasion, because duh, trauma and tbh if anybody gets that it’s Sir.  At that point his primary concern was William and Harry’s overall wellbeing and he gave zero fucks about what Spencer (IDK his first name) wanted.

For three years I was lucky to be a private history teacher for Crown Princess Victoria. I was at an event at the Royal Palace, when Victoria came to me and asked if I could teach her about history. She reminded that it was hard for her to read books (due to her dyslexia), but she would listen gladly.

We sat in a small salon at the Palace… I told our story from the beginning, and ended the last year with all the rulers, their childhood, education, marriages and difficulties. Victoria was extremely interested. She made a lot of notes and next time she would ask questions about something she wanted to know more about. The lessons should have lasted an hour, but usually became much longer because we would discuss the present, the media, trips she was doing.

My teaching ended when she came to Paris. There I guided her in Napoleon and Empress Joséphine’s Château de Malmaison, outside of Paris. An hour was set aside for the visit. She stayed for over two… I will never forget how excited she was at this first meeting with her ancestor Empress Joséphine.

You know what is funny about her style. All her fans on the royal forums is getting tired of her so called style lol. When meghan came on the scene it was like wow an American is going to bring a touch of glamour back. Since Kate wasn’t fitting there standard. Now that she’s bride to be her style is lackluster and everyone wondering what happened lol. She never had it to begin with. She better hire a stylist

anonymoushouseplantfan:

She never had it. That’s absolutely right. Everyone swooned over Rachel Zane’s wardrobe and assumed that was going to cross the pond. Hell to the no. The Suits stylist got ghosted just like PJA.

All we have is Jess Mulroney and her fug Canadian brands. The woman doesn’t even know how to use a tailor. She had travel to freaking LA to get her hair to look decent. There’s a reason why suburban housewives and Midwestern project managers were beating her at the lifestyle blogger game. She does not have it.

Oh my gosh everyone. PJA’s Vitamix-comment (the EXACT brand even) was a serious BURN! Everybody knows about her taking the blender episode with Trevity Trev Trev. PJA’s been ghosted and snubbed (“I don’t even have her phone number any more!” PJA), and this was his toned down little burn. I think that blind a while back about her sending out loads of emails to people saying she’s very busy etc etc etc and then people never heard from her again had it nailed.

Yep.

“Don’t forget there’s a very double-edged sword. People tend to forget when she passed the longest reigning monarch, that was only because her father died so young. So you know for her that’s a very mixed blessing, and you know it’s a record that she would much rather not have been able to pass.”

Gearing up for the 2020 Census – District Dispatch

libraryadvocates:

The decennial count of all U.S. residents is a long tradition: required
by the U.S. Constitution to determine representation in Congress and the
Electoral College, the Census also is key
to the allocation of billions of dollars in federal funding to states
and localities and to the production of widely-used datasets. However,
each decade brings new innovations and challenges. In 2020, the Census
will be conducted primarily online for the first time.

Like past
e-government efforts, this likely will place additional demands on
library staff and technology resources to assist people in participating
in the Census online or via another method of their choosing. It also
presents an opportunity to increase public awareness and use of Census
data.

Meghan Markle’s Work Husband Doesn’t Have Her Number Anymore and Honestly, I’m A Little Sad About It

anonymoushouseplantfan:

LOLOLOLOL, Meghan has already ghosted Patrick Adams.

There you go, sugars who still think Trevor, Ninaki, et. al. are all lying about how Meghan works. It’s now happening in real time. What do you say now? Patrick was an abusive “work husband”? LOLOLOLOL.

BTW, these guys were “the family she never had” back in June of last year.

I do my thing and you do yours. I am not in this world to live up to your expectations, and you are not in this world to live up to mine. You are you and I am I, and if by chance we find each other, then it is beautiful. If not, it can’t be helped.

This was totes Harry the acting on face. You can always tell. Revisit that killers concert he attended he was totally mugging or the invictus in the skybox mugging he was doing. He was off today plant it was forced Harry. Who even cares, but I thinks it’s wearing thin. He should have dated this freak a lot longer. He thought the public was gonna fall for her shit and it’s the opposite. He got that ish wrong.

I think you’re right.

Now THIS is the kind of news I want to see. @duchessofostergotlands thought you might appreciate it!

W has always been the golden boy, H just had some positive yrs and a huge charisma in his favor. In their 20’s W looked doomed doing things bc it’s tradition and playing a bored married life before time, while H was the youthful passionate about everything he was involved. In my teens I became fan of the shy and mature teen W, but got annoyed with his “taking time” for this and that and tought it was excuses, but now looking at his steady life seems he knew what was the right thing to do.

How Women See How Male Authors See Them

The canon is lousy with authors who yearn to be admired for their sensitivity to the full range of female personhood, be that personhood luscious, pert, or swelling coyly against a sheer camisole. These are writerly men confident that they’ve nailed women’s psyches, all because of how single-mindedly they want to nail women.

Read more on the ridiculousness that ensues when bookish men perform interest in women’s inner lives out of a misbegotten sense of nobility.

Both brothers sought out what they wanted to be themselves in their spouses. William who always wanted to be normal, picked a normal woman, albeit one that was still wealthy enough to be apart of his circle. He wanted a solid, discreet, countryside loving life. Harry through Diana became obsessed with celebrity. He’s a spare in the BRF, but he can make waves as a celebrity, just like divorced Diana who lost her HRH. It’s where he feels prized and influential, and superior to his family.

anonymoushouseplantfan:

This is very insightful. Thanks.

I think we all pretty much agree that MM is a narcissist. Even family members have called her that. What do you think about Harry’s personality? I can’t quite figure him out. Maybe because his PR was so good in the days after the Vegas fiasco. Just not sure what to make of him. Is he needy? Why was he so desperate to win over a D-list TV soap actress? I don’t understand him at all.

anonymoushouseplantfan:

You are asking the wrong person because I cannot, for the life of me, understand it either.

But he’s been fishing in D-list waters for a long time. People say Meghan “isn’t his usual type,” but that’s because they are just looking at Cress and Chelsy. He also dated Natalie Pinkham, Caroline Flack, Flo What’sHerFace, Mollie King, etc… He was flirting heavily with that Dr. Who actress at the polo. Katie Nicholls says he was handing out phone numbers to every starlet he could find. JLaw said she turned down a date request from KP. There was also that Burberry model he was dating when he was “falling for” Meg.

When you think of it, there were a lot more starlets than there were aristos in his rolodex. I think Cress and Chelsy were the ones who were allowed to become “official” girlfriends. I don’t think he was able to get any of the celeb girlfriends approved.

Then Meghan came along and refusing her was racist and, voila, he finally found a celeb girlfriend he could force through. They couldn’t say not to her.

I don’t understand why, but I think he really is star-struck. It’s bizarre.

was wondering since i also read other tumblers, and you seem pretty sure there is going to be a wedding. what makes you so certain?. there are never any pictures of her with harry. even kate is pictured grocery shopping. everything seems to be consistently proven to be fake about Meghan from not living at nott cott, not ever going to Africa with harry and prince charles not attending the baptism because he was at another engagement etc. just to name a few. a lot of fake pr from her side, but you seem to believe the press a lot. i hope these questions dont offend you, just wondering why?

I’m not offended. I believe there will be a wedding mostly because KP has said that there will be a wedding and Harry has said there will be a wedding. They put seals on it and gave interviews. It’s as legit as it can be.

I know A LOT of this relationship is fake pr (including, sadly, stuff that has actually been said by KP), but I do believe those two things. The military really is mobilizing for this and they really are contracting for new trumpets and stuff. The government really is instituting security measures. Charity workers really are receiving invitations. That is not just press magic. Those are actual official releases, budget provisions, and interviews with real people.

That being said, I won’t be crying into my coffee if it turns out that there is no wedding. I’ll be happy to eat heaping plates of crow and congratulate the other bloggers on having been right all along. I don’t really have an ego about this. I truly believe that this wedding is a disaster for the BRF and Harry, and if it doesn’t happen I’ll be celebrating along with everyone else. I won’t even mind if all of tumblr sends me “YOU WERE TOTES WRONG, PLANT” anons. Heck, I’d welcome them. I’d love to be wrong about this.

But, sadly, I don’t think I am.

A lot of what this anon writes has to do with the Conspiracy Trio and their “agreement” theory, as far as I’m concerned. They can’t bring themselves to admit that this is a legitimate engagement because doing so means they would have to place some blame on Harry’s head for this. And they won’t do that. So instead they’ve created a crazy “agreement” theory that IF IT WERE TRUE would actually end the monarchy because millions of people in the UK would be pissed off that THE QUEEN had trolled the entire nation and commonwealth about a false engagement and wedding that were never going to happen. The Conspiracy Trio is too deep in their denial to realize this.

Megs is currently the girlfriend Harry karmically deserves but not the one he needs. Life is just going to throw some curveballs here in the next month to fix that.

I will say this, H has nearly met his match with her. Fortunately for him, M is an amateur man-eater so he might stand a chance. She stroked his ego for a year and half before she started trying to break him. That’ll backfire on her. It took her a year to get a proposal, when it should have only taken about 3 mths. H still tells her off, that should have been nipped in the bud by 4 mths in. She had no time limits-bad strategy-amateur hour

anonymoushouseplantfan:

Well, she waited until she got the ring to start making him over.

You know, I don’t think of her as a man-eater. I view man-eaters as women who are into the thrill of the hunt and are kind of cynical about using men.I don’t think Meghan is not like that.

I think Meghan has a very specific goals she expects to achieve in each relationship. I think she honestly goes into the relationship thinking this will be The One who will turn her into a Hollywood star (Trevor), a lifestyle maven (Cory), or a humanitarian fashion icon (Harry). When, due to her own shortcomings, the expected goal is not achieved she turns sour on the man and starts looking around for the next self-transformation (with suitable male abettor).

Patricia Treble’s analysis of the Royals engagements.  HM is actually 24% above last year.  And she has comment about Harry’s leisurely work schedule.  Thinks he wil drop out of the top 10 royals by April at this rate.  Not good when your pregnant sister in law beats you.  Will has almost doubled his numbers.  PC as always with Anne are the workhorses of the RF along with HM.

Thanks! That is very interesting. Here are Harry’s numbers from that blog post.

And he’s only that high because he is counting his lunches and African vacays in that total.

Sophie and Edward are doing great as well. I’m glad to see that. I just hope Kate keeps her work schedule up after the baby is born.
